Windrock Spring has Sprung run 6/7/25

Getting ready for the spring has sprung run. Thought I'd post a couple of pictures of how I load. Looking for any thoughts till I have time to make my planned enclosure. I will post ride pictures and details after we return.

We arrived on a rainy Saturday morning. The weather had let up for a bit.

We unloaded the Bronco and prepared to hit Trail 2.

The clouds had gathered again and at the elevation we were at they looked like a fog coming in.

We tried our hand with our first difficult trail of the day as it started to lightly rain. We did not get far before deciding to save this rocky, muddy climb for another day. We made our way to G1 (this is the main trail on this side of the park). We took it over to G7 trying to find the Windrock fields and the powerhouse pavilion. We had no success with finding either. I think the pavilion is on restricted land. We went to the overlook and took pictures of clouds.

From there we made our way over to 6, another difficult trail. We were able to pick our way through on this one. And trust me the pictures don't do it justice! We did a lot of "tummy rubs" all the way through. This is on 37's

6 was a blast and I'd recommend it for a great adventure.
We actually got stuck on two moderate trails and had to winch(42, G39). With this year's rains and all the scheduled event throughout spring it is time for summer trail maintenance to start in the park. This can always be a fun and challenging time of year to ride.
We next went to a difficult trail, 35.

So much water was coming down the mountain that the trail had become a smaller creek beside the creek. We got to the intersection we were looking for from here. and crossed this creek in the above picture.
81 was our next trail. We were not that far into the steep climb when we saw that alone in the rain this one was not a good idea.

Here we are badly high centered. It is way steeper than the picture suggest. We thought about digging / winching our way out. Then we walked to the next corner. I just took a picture of the approach. Around the corner looked like bouncers had gotten stuck. Maybe on a dry day I'll try again.

It had been a good day so we cut our losses and headed to load up and out!

I usually get good love on these adventures... Shouldn't post the link prior to the story, I guess. Perhaps this community is moving away from the off-highway adventure and more toward the local shopping plaza... They are great on road also ... for an offroad ute...
