I made the switch. Ever since they said that they would provide the hard top pre kit I figured I would make the switch in the hopes of getting mine before year end.

Isn't the question " Will enough dealers push order holders to change to soft tops ? "
Doesn't this open the door for dealers to order stock and keep your order on the back burner ?

I am switching over to the soft top and will likely purchase a hard top at a later date. I love the look of the hard top even in the MIC color, I originally wanted the Big Bend grill to closer match the MIC top but since I am likely going to pick up a hard top later, I may try for a MOD top in 2023 or 24, haha. I hope that they start filling all the early reservations that want the hard top well before anyone that was near or after my date of 7/26. In my opinion those that ordered late should be on the short end of the stick for hard tops, sorry just my opinion.

If customers keep the MIC top, and Ford can't build them, dealers get stock they can sell for MSRP + ADM. I can't imagine there's a huge push on the individual dealer level to get people to switch

So close from switching to a Black Diamond over the Badlands because I know I don't need sway bar too much. I just know that it won't help my chances much seeing as I have the squatch and 2.7....Fingers crossed I can still get MY21. I know my dealership can give a strong yes/no if I changed either...
BL gets you the stronger front end. BD requires Sasquatch to get it. You can get the soft top on either (4 door) so before I'd switch to BD, you'd probably have just a good of a chance if you stuck with BL but did soft top and no Sasquatch.

I have confused the door bags with the bags for the top. Sorry for the confusion
No... All hard tops come with bags for the front two pieces. When you add door bags you still get those two front pieces, but you get the storage bags to allow you to put the four doors in the back.

When you order a soft top, you can't order the storage door bags. Seems that you can only order the garage bags separately through the parts counter.

This is an issue with BnP/Ford in that they have linked door bags with roof panels as a single package.

Side note the middle panel above the rear seat never gets any bags because it won't fit inside the Bronco. You can order a garage bag through parts however.

I also hope that enough switch to keep the reservation holders getting their broncos and not too many ending up on the dealer lots...although I know they have to make their living as well.
Exactly this. Every dealer lot build takes a build slot that could be used for a reservation holder ahead of me which pushes my October reservation with lots of sins deeper into '22. I want as close to reservation only builds as possible so I hope lots of people switch.

I have a res date of 7/14. AMB, OBX, Lux pkg. Switched to soft top June 2 and removed the paint protector, at the suggestion of dealership. I was told I'm next in line for their allocations. Still no build date.:cautious: At this point, I'm not sure it made a difference to switch.

I am not switching. I have already switched from dual tops to just MIC hardtop in the first round of restraints.
If u ever want the hardtop, i would suggest u dont switch and wait it out. First off, Ford has already stated the price is going to be very high with shipping. Next u don't get to finance it with the Bronco. All the money will have to come out of pocket whenever it gets here, which ford states is years (3) to come.
So I am thinking with a early res, and the hardtop still on my order, i should get a hardtop bronco sometime this MY or very early in the 22 MY witch will still be before the "accessory" hardtop every shoes up to dealers. So thats my thinking, i think i will get a hardtop on my order built before u can ever get an accessory one. Soft tops are available now.
I have had dual tops on a Jeep before, and believe me, it is the way, if u can get it.

I was originally a dual top order. Mod Top and Soft Top.

Then I switched to MIC since I was very leery that the mod top would be available in '22 before Q3 and I live in PA so definitely use rear defroster.

But I actually really wanted the soft top for the other 8 or so months of the year when we get sporadically warm days.

So switching out to a soft top w the hookups is kind of a no-brainer for me. If it comes in late Sept / Oct I'll just gut it out this winter and re-access my options next fall.

Man, it'll probably make more sense to order a new 23/24 Bronco, wait for production, then trade in your 21/22 than buy a hard top separately from Ford
You spelled Warthog / Bronco Raptor wrong...

But yes! Exactly

It would be to dealer's advantage to not have their orders switch. This way, they get their allocation met with inventory they can sell on their lot.

Just saw this on a dealer website. Looks like they may start offering soft tops with the Wildtrak. Not sure if it’s just on the demos or available to retail orders as well?

I think all dealer mannequins are soft top, regardless of trim

Ya ,I know that squatch is delaying a ton but that's the thing I really don't want to budge on...
