This look like a type of prop rod for the seat bottoms (this is the 4 door). Never seen Ford do seat bottoms like this before...
And the seat bottoms have a serious incline!
Do you think the seat bottoms collapse for a flatter floor? Removable? Just underseat stowage??

From the picture it also looks to me like the seat bottom is designed to move forward, and down when you collapse the seat backs.

The rear seats go down towards the floor when you lower the back of the seat.

Ahhh... Good eye. They looked like the original position at first glance. So, identical to the way the Escape does it.
But still, could be flatter like the Escape.

That was my interpretation as well, lateral then vertical movement.

I still want to see them removed so we can tell how flat the floor can be.
