It's like going to McDonald's. There are so many variations of a hamburger, I can't figure out what to order, so always get the basic burger instead of something more fancy.

More specifically, it's like going to McDonald's and they suddenly have a Big Mac, a Big Mac Deluxe, a Big Mac Special and a Big Mac Fiesta, and now I'm not even sure what a Big Mac is anymore.

I know what Broncos and Mustangs are. Don't confuse me by turning those models into their own multi-model brands.

I haven't had that problem yet. I've seen one in the wild and my dealer has a bunch on the lot .

I am finally getting around to converting my reservation this week. My dealer sent me an email with a link to the B&P and instructions on how to save it as a pdf to send to him.

The link was for the Sport. I feel confident that the order will be entered correctly already.
I plan to employ trust but verify.

Followup: I emailed my B&P pdf yesterday afternoon. This morning I received an order confirmation from Ford corp followed by a DORA from the dealer. Everything looked correct. I have never spent that much so easily.

Ok, then don't buy one.

They are selling like hot cakes, they look good, are capable, and are at a reasonable price point.

This isn't 1978 anymore, it is time to move on.

My dealer says they can't keep them on the lot. I haven't seen one on the street yet but then again, with COVID I just go to work and come home without going anywhere else.

I have had this conversation with both car and non car people and it's wearing me out.

I'm not hating on the Sport, I dig it, it's just annoying

I think that you are dealing with this all wrong. Don't get frustrated just run with it.
Tell everyone that is what you are getting but it is a special model and takes longer to get.
Then when they see it they may understand. My wife is from CO and a Denver Bronco fan. My inlaws know that I am not a D Bronco fan and were confused why I was so excited by the Bronco.

Why would anyone reply its the "Baby Bronco". Its not, its the Bronco Sport. Its a nice rig, and anyone who gets one, has made a nice purchase.

I mean if our ego as hopeful Bronco owners is this fragile, we got way more problems than waiting to get ours.

Except for Rock crawlers, hell maybe all the Bronco Sport buyers have purchased a better rig for most of their or possibly our driving.

I think the Bronco will be cool as hell, but I dont think it makes me any more cool than the Bronco Sport.

No feelings hurt, I don't have a Sport. Known as, is not the same as what it is actually named. My point is, that its being used to imply its a lesser vehicle, instead of a different vehicle, so some folks can feel better about themselves, and make others feel as though they have something less.

Besides, instead of annoyed, you get to tell them, that the "Bronco" is made to travel over boulders, through swamps, and all sorts of terrain the Sport can never handle. Of course, that might not be true at all, but you can sound cool. Smile.

What they should have done is named the Bronco Sport something else entirely. When I see Brand Model Sport (see: Honda Accord Sport), what I naturally assume is it's just a sportier version of that same model. Because I'm a rational human being.

But that's not at all what the Bronco Sport is. It's a completely different vehicle.
