I’ve been reading these forums since I initially placed my reservation in July. Lots of great information shared along with the highlights and lowlights along the way.
Placed a reservation on 7-17-20. Was assigned to my local Ford dealer ( Marin County Ford ). Wasn’t thrilled with them from past knowledge from myself and others but that was a long time ago, time for another shot. Months go by and no call or email excluding their local promos. December rolls around and I figured I’d reach out to them. No return email or call back. Wait a week and go in. They’re busy but take my contact into and said they will give me a ring. Nope. I call and leave another message. I finally get a return call and I’m now at ease. Agree on price and how the order will be placed. Said they are getting 69 on initial allocation and Im around 120. So I will be late 21 or 22. No problem. He was very clear that I had to go in person and sign the build sheet when they call me. Great! Was excited. Then back to the abyss. No contact. Get a blanket email in February that I need to submit my build and price and they will contact me for an in person date to order. Send in build and price that day. Crickets. More unreturned emails and phone calls. Finally got ahold of them last week and he says I’m busy I’ll call you back in 15. Nope. Eventually get an email saying they are prioritizing the first 69 to get their orders in I’ll probably get a MY 22. Ask if they can just place my order. No response. Unbelievable
My brother has been dealing with Serramonte Ford and said they have been top notch. I contact them. Immediate, informed response. They give me the Ford customer service number to switch dealers. Oh boy, here we go again. I’m told I need to create a new reservation. Ok done. She says it’ll take a couple of days to import my initial time stamp to the new reservation at Serramonte. I get an email I have another reservation at Marin County Ford. I wait two days and call, 30 minute wait time to be told they show no information about switching dealers or attaching my original time stamp to the new reservation and that MCF placed an order on my reservation in February. WTF! Again was told it’ll be a couple of days. Now today the day before the cutoff. I call them right when they open. Explain all of the above with the case number. Mid sentence I’m forwarded to a survey on how Ford is doing. I call back on hold again for 20 minutes. Super nice lady but she’s limited in what she can do. Get a supervisor after about and hour. Even nicer lady. Still in the same boat. Waiting for their back room to make the change.
I hope everyone has had a smoother process than the above disaster. Not sure what to do if I don’t get it changed in time. I had a couple of 71’s that I loved. Was super excited when these new ones were released for order. Not so enthusiastic now
