Good day everyone. For those of you with firsthand knowledge, what are the pros and cons of going with one versus another on a 2023 Wildtrak?

I have the opportunity to pickup a VRTuned calibration tuner at a great price but curious if it would be a mistake.

As far as tunes go - ProCal is fairly mild. But it isn’t going to break anything either as long as you keep running premium fuel. It has the side benefit of working with other Ford Performance things, but you already have all of that stock in a Wildtrak.

Other tunes will get you a lot more configuration and, potentially, power. And will let you adjust for higher octane ratings. But you better know what you are doing.

I think the ProCal is the only tune that modifies the auto transmission shifting and that's a big selling point of that tune. It sounds like most of the other tunes will net more power, but the improved shifting trumps that.

No, it isn't unique to ProCal, but you are correct that ~some~ tunes can't do that. Livernois, for example, does both shifting points and throttle response.

Yeah, I was referring more to the plug in boxes like JB4, Superchips, etc. I would hope a full blown custom tune changes the trans shifting. Does the Whipple modify the shifts with the automatic?
