VIN question

First time poster here.

I apologize if the answer is somewhere on here with someone in the same boat but more looking for opinions too.

Got a Badlands 4-door, 2.7, squatch, hard top (adjusted to after they said 2021 I couldn't get the mold in color) reserved that was originally day one but got limited response from dealer about reserves and trims so I canceled the wildtrak day 1 res I had and have a day 2 res instead. Got the order number. That's it. Shouldn't I have a VIN by now at least? Last communication I have from anyone is Ford talking about the scarcity of the hard top.

No rush here more just curious. Okay maybe a little rush lol

Reservation order is irrelevant now really. Ford is having issues with the hard tops. You also want a 2.7 and Sas witch also are backed up. Gonna be awhile I think unfortunately.

I am so confused, you canceled the day 1 reservation because you couldn't get a response from the dealer? Why just not transfer that day 1 res to another dealership?

Just switched the trim was the reason for reservation adjustment.

This has literally been the most discussed thing on this forum for the past month+, the search function is your friend.

Out of all the reservations and orders, a small percentage has a VIN. Your build is likely the main culprit in preventing your build date so far, though there are many other factors.

You do know that you can change whatever you had on your day 1 reservation right? You can change whatever you want until you get a VIN.

I'm aware that it's been discussed for months now. Didn't know if i was missing something in regards to the VIN. Seemed like majority of the posts I ran across folks had vins and were discussing build dates. My apologies

Ask you dealer how many allocations they have and whether or not your order received one. Start there.

For example, if your dealer has 100 Reservations and received 40 allocations and your reservation was in the top 40 then your order should have been submitted.

Granted there are some constraints that could hold your order back .. for example you wanted a Black Mod Top .. which is not available until 2022.

I would have not cancelled your day 1 res as you were in front of the line.

Thanks for taking the time to actually respond. Yeah bummed about the day 1 to day 2 but that ship has sailed lol. I'll reach out to the dealer about allocations. Again not really in any rush. I read a lot on here and know my particular build checks a lot of delay boxes but when posts kept popping up about build dates I just started to question things.
