Lol I was thinking that. I am quite jealous of your Montana residence. I appreciate your states license plate policy and no sales taxes on vehicles. I’ve considered opening an LLC there . I’m indiana they nail you for sales tax and yearly excise tax.

The vehicle purchase / registration process is really painless here. And, no inspections lol

Noticed AUG3 and delivered on July 25 so 8 days. Not something i would need to check, so i thought. It is what it is. I just want others to look before signing papers for delivery. Im not mad being the guinea pig. Just more of a heads up to others.

if you noticed it 8 days after getting it, how do you know it came like that? Could have been someone trying to break in anywhere from CA to your home? Not sure any dealer would just happily pay to repair that, after the car has been gone for a week. Also pretty incompetent and odd break in attempt, most just use emergency window poppers you can get at any hardware store. Quick and quiet. Still a bummer on a new rig, but you seem to have the right attitude to deal with it. At least you found it before somebody cuts their fingers on it.

Good to know there's an other thing to look for. I'll give it a good once over at the dealer and once I bring it home I'm going to try out everything I can find, see if it works. Already picked the dirt lot to try out the off road modes, might also take it to an offroad park that's more for bikes and ATVs but has some wider trail stuff to test things.

Someone else asked in this thread, do we have a checklist here somewhere for which issues to pay attention to when taking delivery? That would really be handy.

By chance do you have the instructions on how to take apart the door to remove/replace the glass?

My passenger side glass does not sit level. Was going to try and repair it myself but prefer to have some instructions before - if available.

Special Tool(s) / General Equipment

Flat Headed Screw Driver

Removal

NOTE: Left hand (LH) shown, right hand (RH) similar.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Remove the rear door trim panel.
   Refer to: Rear Door Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

1. 
   Remove the rear door window glass inner belt moulding.
   1. Release the retaining clips.
2. 1. Remove the rear door window glass inner belt moulding.

1. Remove the rear door window glass adhesive covers.

1. NOTICE: Make sure to release the rear door latch to the open position before closing the rear door. Damage to the rear door latch may occur.
   Raise and align the rear door window glass.
   1. Position the rear door latch into the closed position and the rear door window glass will raise to the full up position
      Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver
2. 1. Confirm the rear door window glass screws are aligned with the access openings.

1. 
   Remove the rear door window glass.
   1. Remove the bolts.
      Torque: 93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)
2. 1. Remove the rear door window glass.

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Check the rear door window glass alignment.
   Refer to: Rear Door Window Glass Adjustment (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures).

1. Carry out the power door window initialization.
   Refer to: Power Door Window Initialization (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures).

If Ford won’t replace it for you then your dealer should pay for it. No reason to pay for damage done to your new car before you took delivery.

May have been from an attempted break in on the dealer lot. It was in San Jose, CA after all lol (sorry its too easy not to get a jab in like that)
