I installed some under hood lights today. Simple. Quick. Easy.
The LED lights are bright as day and make a huge difference in viewing the engine bay, in my garage. Only the low price point ($14.89) from Amazon has me wondering if these lights will be durable enough.
They come with enough wire if you route directly under the hood soundproofing and come with an easy to install (and adjustable, and fused) contact switch that turns the lights off whenever the hood is closed.
The lights are attached to the top of the hood with 3M tape that was already on the light bar. There's a beveled edge where I installed it, just forward of the hood soundproofing, that points the lights in the perfect place (toward the center of the engine).
My only modification was installing a bit larger eyelet to connect directly to the Bronco's positive battery terminals.

I haven't gotten to installing my light on the Bronco yet, but I just did the Fiat's trunk, and this light is fantastic! Thanks for the review.

Reading the Amazon comments: It appears that the fuse is on the negative (ground side) wiring and the positive lead goes directly to the battery. If true, this is a VERY bad practice. Any abrasion on the positive wire could cause an unfused path to ground and subsequent fireworks!! If you are handy you can move the fuse to the positive lead and as close to the battery as possible. Do not use this device if you cannot do the modification. The fuse is there to protect the wiring!
