Ultimate Black Diamond Non-Sasquatch pics thread

The pic of the bronco at the gas station above is ultimately what decided my build. Looks pretty snazzy. Though, I kept the steelies. I'm on the fence regarding whether I want to switch from A51 to orange... not sure if I want blue stitching and accents in contrast to that beautiful, beautiful orange.

The A51 does look good there. I feel in the shade it's a great color. It's when it's in full sun does it get a bit baby blue to me.

Been going back and forth like a volleyball between Badlands vs. Black Diamond (cactus gray). I really like the throwback nature of the steelies and the savings to be had on the BD, but also love the stance of the 33's, so if I were to go with the badlands, I'd probably trade down to aftermarket steelies at some point. All of that is to say, I made these rough photoshops of 1) a previous badlands CG pic with steelies added, and 2) a previously posted A51 BD shot with upgraded rims, w/ photoshopped steelies and GC color (be nice, I'm normally good, but I'm operating without a mouse, or patience!).

This Cactus soft top looks sharp.

I’m starting to develop interest in the mod top along with shiny black wheels. In the same way that the BigBend wheels go well with the MiC top.

I really wanted to go Cyber Orange (juice), but it is nearly the same color as both an Xterra and a Prius that I park next to every single day. I'm getting a 2022, so maybe one of those ladies will get a different vehicle by the time I have to resubmit my order.

I really do like the look of the 2 door Black Diamond. I think the 32's look good. It looks capable and well proportioned without getting into the monster truck look.

That said, I would totally drive a monster truck though.

Sure I wish 33s were an 'option' on the BD without going up in price to another trim level. Do I need 33s? Hell no. The BD size is even smaller than BB/OB but it is substantially cheaper tire size - 265/70 17 is insanely common across work trucks. That and 245 75/17 are probably the best tires to get.

I was curious so I priced via Costco tire & tire rack if unavailable at Costco. To keep it consistent I used BFG KO2s since both have them.

255/75/17 $248 (Jeep Willys size)
265/70/17 $211
285/70/17 $247
315/70/17 $300

so for 5 it would be $180+ to go from BD standard to BL size. The standard BD is not unreasonable for sure.

The more I see the non-squatch BD 2-door, the less I second guess my purchase decisions. For what I need/want, it's perfect!

The only problem, unlike the 4-door (and some of the other trims), the 2D BD with black steelies looks fabulous in every color!
That's the only challenging decision.

I agree that the 2 door BD with steelies looks much better than the 4 door with steelies.

Added a bunch of pics from the west coast Cactus Gray black diamond.

I don't know about you all but I still have no idea if i want to sasquatch or not. Sometimes I see the stance of the BD and think it's great, maybe just a level and good to go. That lets me go wild on extras, accessories, and upgrades too. But then I look at simply adding 33s (~1000-1500), aftermarket coilovers (~1000-1200), and wheels (~1300) and I'm almost at sasquatch price anyway, but without a front locker, the special bilstein dampers, or the stronger front diff.

Hi all, thought I would start a thread solely for pictures of the black Diamond WITHOUT Sasquatch package. For me, the looks/ride height of the standard Black Diamond are really going to be the differentiator of going BD or a lower trim with Sasquatch. I’ve only seen a small number of pictures of this trim, so if you have any, post them up!

Great job and thanks BD is not my build but these all look nice, outstanding work
