Yep, I don't have the march doc but have April doc and they still claim its expired. I told them to speak to the inventory manager @ Ford and am waiting for a call back now.

So I pick up my bronco today. I’ve read through this and watch tons of videos on it. Still kinda lost. Everyone agrees that I get the $2845, but if I follow the chart I come up with more. Am I missing something? My original order was $39k and today I’m expected to pay $46k. My dealer knows of the price protection but they don’t really seem to be worried if I get it or not. Feels like this may be a fight and I’m not fully prepared with knowledge to take them on

I too am picking up mine today and in same boat as you. Don't let the dealer push you around. Take in all the recent doc's and prove you are owed the price protection. Best of luck to you!

Need to explain to them that price protection is two parts.

(1) Model Year Transition Private Offer which is what they see in smart vincent
AND
(2) 2023 model year retail price protection

For part (2) tell your dealer to look at the Retail Price Protection information Ford provided to them, which for 2023 is at least the following documents:
(1) C&I/Pricing Announcement: EFC12360
and
(2) C&I/Pricing Announcement: EFC12491

If they will print these out for you and let you see them even better. They won’t get paid by Ford for part (2) for 45-60 days so they may want to cut you a check for that part after they verify payment.

ALSO, follow the charts on post one, some of the protections depend on your original order date and not changing your order.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in this 40 page conversation, but is there protection for the Destination and Delivery fee? Mine was $1495 in 10/19/21, now I just got my window sticker and it shows $1795. Any info on that?

Can someone please clear up my confusion? After reading this thread, my understanding was that the private offer "certificate" (for the model year transition price protection) is supposed to be in smart vincent. However, based on communication with my dealership they are saying that is not the case. My Bronco is supposed to be delivered in the beginning of next month, so I'm trying to get a head start on price protection.


Whether this "certificate" is really in smart vincent or not, they can't seem to find mine. I believe it's because my address changed after I made my initial order. I tried calling the "bronco support hotline", but they were only able to search based on my new address and not my old address. They said only my dealer can search with my old address. I asked my dealer to double check with my old address again, but I'm still waiting to hear back. Do I have any recourse if they still can't find it?

The Destination & Delivery fee protection is already built into the amounts I have on Column C.

My dealer has found my price protection and will apply it but they are applying it to the new MSRP that is on the window sticker, not the one on the signed purchase agreement.

Additionally, does the price protection apply before or after taxes?

That depends on your state law.

In most states I’ve lived in, Retail Price Protection applies before taxes, while the Price Protection Certificate is applied after taxes since it is often classified as a rebate.

Thanks for the reply. If I understand correctly then, the price increases in 2023 are not covered, because the Price Protection amount in January is the same as the amount today, however the destination fee and the base price has gone up since.

• Retail Price Protection — Covers price increases within the model year

No -> Yes -> No = Column B

Next section:
Yes -> Yes -> No = Column C (dealer shows no retail price protection)

It should be A+C, your expectation is correct.

If your dealer only sees $2845, that likely just means your order was never attached to your reservation, therefore you got lumped in with the folks that ordered/reserved after March 19th, 2021. I'm guessing at this point your original reservation was probably canceled, so I doubt you'll be able to correct that.

They will only see the column A/B values in Smart Vincent, as those are attached to Private Offer Certificates specifically for the Bronco Model Year Transition Program.

Retail Price protection (columns C, D, E) is just a standard form of price protection that applies to all retail ordered Ford vehicles; there is no special program for it, so they will not see a certificate in Smart Vincent. Your dealer is simply supposed to charge the price of the vehicle when you placed your 2023 order (the price on the order's DORA), and once it is verify sold to the original order holder, Ford will adjust the invoice in Visions & they'll get a kickback on the dealer payment statement.

For some reason a handful of dealers seem to be completely unaware Retail Price Protection exists even though it has been around for as long as I can remember (since the early 2000s at least). You are definitely not the first person to encounter this issue.

Just got back from the dealer I thought we were going to have battle royal. I sent all the above info including the signed Dora to my salesman and laid it all out. Then he went silent. The day before my nephew went in the same store and the Sales Manager we a complete asshole to him actually yelling at him. It Fords fault I have no incentive to lower my price. I can make 10K on this if you walk away. Offered 5K if he would walk away. I was pissed and had already wrote an email to the dealer. We can do this the hard way or the easy way. The hard way is def con 3 with 6G, Google Reviews and the states Attorney General. If you want to play games we are going to have a really good game and you are not going to like it. So let the games begin.

Then I called Ford Marketing. Got a really sweet girl on the phone and asked to be stepped up to a supervisor. She needed to take all the info down. I placed a deposit with FORD to order a Bronco. Ford choose this dealer not me. We agreed to a price, I waited 2 years and now the dealer wants to steal it. Fantastic Ford buying experience. She said someone will call me Monday. I started laughing. "They will sell by then. Thanks Ford. Why I haven't own one in 25 years. I think someone from Ford called them. I need to call tomorrow and withdraw my complaint. Best buying experience every.
