Installed Tuffy Cargo Security Drawer designed for the four door in my two Door. I have not had back seats in for over four years. Really needed to update my storage.

The only modification that was needed was to drill a new hole on the bottom of the metal frame to match up to the two doors tie down location which is 14 inches.

On the top I used a piece of roof flashing to fabricate a lip around three sides. On the left and right there is a gap of about 1 1/2 this filled the gap on top and also gives a lip that is a 1 1/4 inch high on three side. The flashing is held down by the tiedown mounts on the top.

I need to clear the rear seat bolts that protrude up from the floor, so I added two washes to the mounting bolts supplied with the drawer. One when I screwed the mounting bolt to the floor and then one on top.

Lastly make sure to drill the hole in the two rear cover plates this will hide the exposed floor.

Oh my gosh! I’ve been wondering if something like this would work. I am never going to put my rear seats back in and I don’t like any of the two door options. The measurements seem right I just didn’t want to buy something and have it not work. Question, what about the storage underneath? Where the tire jack is. Thanks!

The storage underneath is unusable unless the draw is completely removed.

Howdy,

thinking of doing this. Any issues with putting a fridge on top? Also would you mind snapping a pic from the driver side looking back. Curious how much gap there is between the front seats and storage box.

Up in the mountains right now. Will send some photos this afternoon. Placing a frigerater depends on the weight.

Good afternoon hoping you could snap a few pics from what the storage looks like from the driver side looking back and how much gap between the front seats. Thanks!

There is roughly 18 inches to were the floor drops down. I would guess 26 inches from the center console to the storage box. I can fit a Colman ice chest behind my seat and still recline a little I'm 6.4 so the seat is all the way back. I am out of the country till July so no photo soon. Hope this helps.

My back seats are history, they just don't know it yet. We're about empty nesters and though I've had people in the back of my 2 door, it's rare.

I plan on custom cutting a piece of 3/8" HPDE, including a hinged access to the existing rear storage. Just need to figure out the supports for underneath the back seat foot wells.
