as stated above, gearshade. I have it myself and it works great. I leave the mounts on all the time and just add the cables when I need.

Is that some type of clevis pin/ring on the riser that's resting on the painted surface? Is that always there when installed? Seems like over time that could wear on the paint. Other than that (and I could be way off on that) it looks well made and sturdy.

Yes but its so light that I dont think it will be an issue. You could probably even replace it with a small cotter pin. I leave the brackets installed on the trail sights all the time, but I only put the risers on when Im heading out to a trail. The pin comes off and stays with the risers when not in use, so there is nothing there normally.
