OK, I have to get a net or something to block items from falling out of the back when I open the rear tailgate door. I recently discovered that milk jugs do split when dropped from 3 ft. One good thing about the low towing capacity is that most people won't tow anything with their Bronco. If they did, they wouldn't be able to open the rear tailgate. Also, you can't open it if someone parks too close. Is this just something the design engineers thought would look cool? I don't get it.

Come on, what is so good about having a tailgate that swings to the curb. OK, you get more exercise because you have to walk around it to load and unload the rear compartment. Exercise is good.

Right now, this is my one and only gripe that I didn't think would be much of an issue, but is. Also, the Nano of course, but I thought that design would be pretty reliable by now. But of course isn't. 😩

If anyone has a good idea for something that can fit on the back that keeps items from falling out when the rear tailgate is opened, please share.

This is what I did - ordered the Ford Accessories Cargo Area Liner with Cargo Lok Blocks and a Cargo Net. Works perfectly!

Opens to the curbside because it doesn't open into oncoming traffic 🤷
100%. Plus it opens past 90 degrees, so you know some moron would lose their door…

Yup, that is the reason it swings curbside, but it is still doesn’t make sense to me. The old Ford Town and County wagon had a gate that either dropped, swung curbside. Something we couldn’t do with a wheel strapped to the back very easily. The old Bronco had a drop gate with the tire on a frame that was separate from tue door.
My BMW X5 has the best concept. A small drop gate and a lift door. Not possible with a removable top.
The rear of the Bronco is my only complaint about the new Design. It sucks when items fall out when you open it after items shift during a drive. And the tire sticks out too far for a bike rack without an receiver extension. The extended overhang increases the moment arm reducing the load rating for bike weight. I am 67 and ebikes weigh 50lbs or more.

Where did you get this? Did it come with the D ring to the top?
I put this together from some stuff I had lying around.

The D-ring is simply a picture hanger that I attached on each side to the bolts for the soft top hold down clips. The net is from a former Lexus RX350. The mini-biners are NiteIze

Looks like @Tricky Dick is drunk and has stumbled into Canada… again.

Collapsible totes are the way to go. Folds flat, but similar holding power to using an 1800‘s milk crate.

I guess I need to hang around the hardware store more often. What you posted will work for me. Thanks for taking the time to share what you did.
