I switched a couple weeks ago and got my VIN last week. Kept all the other sins though. Was not willing to compromise on those. With the tops I was undecided anyway, MIC looks nicer but is a pain with the panels, soft is easy open/close, and that's what I really want. BL, 27., squatc, Lux, tow. Reservation made around 10pm CA time first night.
Good luck!

It looked like they got up to about 1/2 the day for 7/14 soft reservations last week. You will probably be in good shape unless a bunch of earlier reses switched.
I am hoping and praying. Fingers crossed.

8/22 res here so I figured I’d be a my22 regardless, but with the massive backlog of roofs to get through, I can’t see owning my bronco till at least this time next year or later with a hardtop, so I’m going to switch to a soft top to hopefully get it in the first half of next year and deal with that till I can get the black mod top I really want anyways. While my current car is driving just fine, it’s a vw with 246k miles and counting fast. If I have to get an in-between car, my saving will be shot, and there won’t be a bronco in my future for a long long time. So I’m not gonna take the gamble, I’m calling my dealer and switching to a soft top tomorrow.

Yeah I'm in the situation where my lease was up on my old car in June so we've just been a one car household for a few months but I didn't wanna do that for another 6 that's why I switched, couldn't keep going on seeing people get there's and knowing there would be nothing I could do til 2022 haha

Question: When you officially made the switch, how long did it take to show up in your Ford account... and did you get an acknowledgement email? I switched my order this past Friday from MIC Wildtrak lux to soft top Badlands, 2.7, Lux, Sas, tow.... but haven't seen any change online and no email response...

7/14 reservation. Changed to soft top July 19 and was notified on August 12 by Ford that the VIN is issued with an anticipated build week of August 30-we will see. It is similar in appearance to yours: BL/SASQ/2.7/LUX/4 door/Cactus Gray. I recently test drove a soft top (in the up position) and had no issues with either noise or visibility (I am a bit concerned with the complaints about rear visibility when the top is down). It will be simple and fast to use and I plan to eventually get a mod top or a second generation mic which could be painted white. The color looks fine to me and is close enough to Boxwood Green to not wait for whatever the Heritage Edition green will be. If I get it soon, I should get a good value for my 2016 F-150, which I will be selling. I can't wait to get out to Death valley, Johnson Valley, etc. Also, when the VIN notification came in, the Off-Rodeo authorization was included.

Yeah I'm also concerned about the visibility with the top down - but living in Southern California I think I'm going to take the top completely off for a good part of the year.

Yeah, I just noticed your locale, so I need to add cruising PCH too as a place I plan to go in it once in a while. Same here on the top. I figure if I garage it, keep it covered when parked, I could possibly just have a bimini top from May to Late November at least. I can't wait!

same here! Plus with the Badlands and the MGV it's all good if it gets wet!

I switched before the first deadline and got scheduled last week for week aug30. It’s an OBX Sasquatch 2.7 LUX . I also dropped the tow and changed seats to leather. I was an am 7/14 res. I wanted hardtop but probably just keep the softtop. I think it will work better for how we will use the vehicle and I can keep it in the garage. There’s going to be a lot of softtop broncos built in the coming months.

7/24/20 Reservation
originally ordered 2dr Outer banks with Mod top.
Changed to 4dr Big Bend soft-top when then gave us the hard top prep kit.
Hoping to get selected in the next run or two of scheduling.
