If the UAW strikes against Dana, there may not be any Broncos built for a while.
We are sitting idle right now because we don't have any axles to put into our Super Dutys.
I do find it odd that the only news I can find about the looming strike is from Marxist website, crickets from the mainstream media.

Because the article is pushing for a strike, not reporting on the sentiment or conditions that would generally lead to one. It is propoganda, not news that others places might pick up. The conditions for a successful strike are actually less favorable because some factories are already idled for different shortages and the Dana plant is likely not running at full capacity as there is no on time demand for their products. A strike would hurt the company less now then when they are at full production in an absolute dollar basis. The company is also at reduced revenue and less able to offer more compensation than it fully utilized.

Oh that's not good...and yes, that article appears to lean well past center. Interesting the working agreement expired 7 weeks ago.

Yeah there's a storm on the loose, sirens in my head
I'm wrapped up in silence, all circuits are dead
I cannot decode, my whole life spins into a frenzy

Sorry it just popped into my head

Ahhh ..... there's always several sides to a story, and many ways to view a problem. Thanks for the perspective!

I know that they have facilities that are making overtime mandatory, folks working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, and when that happens consistently, the union gets a bug up its butt.
That, and the UAW has been wanting to ditch the 2 tier pay structure pretty bad for quite some time now. Starting at $18 an hour and having to work 7 12s, they can't find folks to fill those jobs, when they are working across the line from someone making $30 (at my plant, Dana's top pay may be different)

People don't understand seniority! Put in your time and work up to that $30 an hour!

Ford Bronco Storm on the horizon? ZgwFUWgHaD5?w=313&h=180&c=7&r=0&o=5&dpr=1.65&pid=1

Theres a storm moving in,
Lightning flashes in her eyes,
She knows where hes been.
And the thunder rolls.
Duhn dunh dunnnn.

On another note. Factory workers everywhere have been shit on for decades. Last factory I was in payed me $10 and hour to make pulleys for john deere and treadmills for gyms. Bumped to $11 after a year of probation, then .15 cents a year till death or salary if I was one of the lucky 3 out of 100. On top of that they wanted me to pay 27% of my pay after taxes to the company healthcare(single, no kids). So i took the ACA cop out and went no healthcare and deducted $100 from my tax $600 return. That aint really a life. They did give the option of overtime but that was 7 days a week. Could make decent money then. Enough to pay rent on your own in Ohio without a spouse and have a decent car. I had roomates and did other auto and fab work to make enough money to play with my Maverick and have a CJ to wheel.

This is widespread and common for most of America, which is one of the many reasons I moved to Maui, even if I was poor, I would still have the beach. I know alot of us on here make good money, and are up there on the ladder. But most of the people that make our world possible are not.

Try to support ypour fellow man in this world. Because he or she may be the one torquing the nuts on your bearing retainers on your high flying Boncos.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly!
But the way they do it now compared to when I started at Ford is pretty crappy.
When I hired on, you hit full pay over the course of a year and a half if you stayed around that long. By the time my brother hired on, I think they had extended that to 3 years(which I was ok with as well)
Now, you hire in as a temporary part time, work your way to temporary full time, to 2nd tier. I think (honestly, I don't know all the facts here) that the union contract states you can never have more than 48% 2nd tier, so the only way to get up to full pay is for those 1st tier folks to retire or leave.
I'm by no means a union shill (I'm a member but it makes me want to vomit sometimes for being one), but even I think that isn't good, for either the employees, or for the company (based on the quality of the new hires we do get).
