All good info. I figured it was the same shocks but i would like to know if bump stops are possible to change in the future if say I wanted to raise the height of the truck to Sasquatch clearances.

Although wouldn't springs affect ride height? that makes me wonder if the springs are different or if it's the same between sasquatch and BL standard

Same shocks on the BL as the squatch as well, squatch just has bigger bump stops i believe.

BL has everything squatch has except standard wheels on 33s vs beadlock CAPABLE on 35s. Remember that, even with the 35s you still have to buy the rings from Ford to make them full beadlock wheels.
Aren't the fenders different with the SAS? Or is it just the flares are wider?

Yeah that too, sorry forgot! But they are just a little wider. Those are gonna be super cheap and easy to swap yourself later on

That's why I"m getting the BL with 33's. Not worth the upcharge. I'll wear out the 33's, find some aftermarket wheels I like better and then get 35's. Maybe a small lift at that time. All the other goodies come with the BL.

The latest rumors that was said by a Ford rep about the BL overland build is that it did not have the full Squatch suspension.

Another most recent rumor from another Ford rep is that the Squatch has stiffer coil springs and longer shocks compared to the BL, giving it approximately 1” of additional lift.

This part isn’t a rumor. Bump stops cannot add lift to any suspension. The only way it could is if the bottom bump stop was so large that it pushes the upper control arm up meaning that it’s resting on the bump stop and the suspension has absolutely no downward movement. That would be a very rough ride. So the info about longer bump stops lifting a vehicle is not possible.

What a bump stop does do is limit the upward and/or downward total movement. This would keep a 35” tire from articulating too much and hitting the upper fender area. This is what the rep was talking about a while back. The rep either had no idea what they were talking about or the person listening misunderstood what they were saying.
Because the BL has more articulation due to it having the disco, a Squatch BL would need additional length bump stops to keep the bigger tire from hitting the upper fender at full flex while the disco is engaged.

So what about this plan...

Badlands
2.7L Eco
Auto tranny (obviously)
4.7 gears (free upgrade)
No Sasquatch (pocket the $2,500)
33” std. tires on 17” std. wheels (included)
—————-
Sell 33’s on 17’s take-offs to some dude with a lesser trim level. Probably get $1,200

Now you’re $2,500 + $1,200 = $3,700 ahead

Plenty of $ to choose your own wheels and tires with $ to spare (that set below is $3,224 for all five, mounted and balanced, incl lugs and Tpms sensors, shipped to your door, tax extra).

What am I missing?

Will need to purchase wider fender flares.

This is actually not a bad idea although i'll be opting for the manual trans which i can get in a 4.7 ratio.

my concern is really what suspension differences there are between badlands w/ or w/o squatch. I'm under the inclination that the suspension is Identical and only the fender flares, wheels/tires are part of the upgrade, Although what gets me is the concept photo i posted on my second post or so where it sits pretty level with 35s, either this was a very early on photo or the springs are indeed different.

Do we know if the concept had the squatsch kit installed?

The concept rig you posted the picture of is known as the “Overland build”, which is what @BroncoBro was talking about earlier in the thread and answered your question about suspension.

I will add that the “stiffer” spring idea may have merit, as that’s what Jeep did/does with the wrangler. 4-doors that came with hard tops were equipped with stiffer springs from the factory then say a 2-door with a soft top. When I upgraded my JK I have my springs to someone else who wanted the stiffer ones.
