I did check and lube all the pivot point I could find being careful not to get lube onto the roof material. It seems like it helped but I’m worn out from working it so many times and will try it again later.

I just did that. Lubed everything I could see. It did seem to help. Thanks! That's not normal..should be able to open and close with one hand. May need to lubricate all the moving pieces!
Thanks for your replythere is not much real weight involved with the front half opening away from the windshield. It's just a long section. I can lift mine with one hand from the driver seat, just can't open it all the way without flinging it or lifting up out of the seat.
has to be something wrong. It's possible it will wear in and get easier but it shouldnt be like that.
I'd bring it back to ford. you may get someone who says "it's fine, that's how they all are" or you may get someone who will admit they shouldnt be struggling that much! Thanks for your reply
Yes, good idea. Maybe one or both of those little gas struts aren’t working. Not sure if they help open it or help close it.I'd bring it back to ford. you may get someone who says "it's fine, that's how they all are" or you may get someone who will admit they shouldnt be struggling that much!
Post a video. Show us. This is not normalI have a ‘24 Badlands 4S and the soft top takes everything I have to push open the first section. It always stops straight up and can fall in either direction. I grunt and groan and finally get it to go back. Win 1.
When I open it all the way, after the initial struggle and win, I pull the release lever and start the struggle for stage 2. I can get it to move back a little, but then have to shimmy around to the rear while holding the linkage with one hand and grab a hunk of the roof itself with the other hand and again pull with everything I have to get it all the way down. WTH??
I’m 5’9, 220 lbs. Not a weakling by any means. Are they all this way?
The video I watched on YouTube shows the guy moving the roof back each stage with very little force.
Putting the roof back is easy. That must be because of the mini struts on the linkage?
Unfortunately, I live by myself so making a video is not possible. Thanks for your help.Post a video. Show us. This is not normal
Good idea. Thank youYeah, that aint right. Take it in to the dealer, but while there, check a couple on their lot, are they all the same?
