So Now What?

So I was just notified by my dealer, and I confirmed it with the FORD Marketing team, that my WT is scheduled for 9/26.....does that now mean that i cannot add anything? Also, if they gave me a VIN, how do i track progress?

Yep, a VIN means no more changes (though I've heard rumors of it happening once or twice.) You can use the "backdoor" link to check progress if you had a reservation. If you are a walk-in order, you are stuck with calling Ford or using their chat feature for info.

You can sometimes make minor modifications like changing your paint color, adding door bags, adding dealer-installed options, etc. Major modifications are a no-go. Ford's ordering system won't even let your dealer make those modifications.

The VIN is... well... obviously your VIN. The Order Number is a 4-character number that is sometimes referred to as an "order code". It should be on your order summary that you received from your dealer when you initially placed your order.

After my daughter got her VIN, she added AUX switches, LED lights and steps. To be fair it was at least six weeks before her first build date.

I got my VIN in early June and was told no more modifications. But my dealer wasn't the best. But yes, I would ask.
