A few things I've learned from reading this forum:

Manual will match RPMs, blip throttle and pretty much not stall if clutch is slipped or not used properly, drive accordingly.

Put padding down when removing doors AND replacing, others have accidentally dropped while replacing. I'm cutting a memory foam mattress to size and keeping a piece before discarding the rest, just for this very reason.

Best to put a cover on when parked in public to keep lookie-loos from touching as they look.

How to limit hard top roof noise with heat wrap or other items.

Remember NOT to use Amorall on MGV, not getting it, but still good to know.

Where to mount air compressor.

AND what else?

That's nutty - who do you work with for insurance? I have Progressive and I'm pretty sure the days of a customer receiving money directly are long gone with them, Geico, Allstate, etc... they have me bring it to a shop and they work it out with them and don't even really get me involved; I just pay my deductible.
I have Progressive and they cut me a check for the difference I paid out of pocket until I hit my deductible. I just emailed them proof of service and payment, then waited ~2 weeks for the check.

Long story, running late for work, slipped the clutch, bam! Right into the back of a box truck. So stupid on my part. It's minor, but you guys know how long its gonna take to get parts.
Time for a bumper ;)

Seriously though sorry to see and I feel your pain, years ago the first manual car I purchased I did that getting out of the parking spot for a test drive. (i was young and wound up buying the car)

Safeco. I had to request it be done that way and visit body shops for estimates. I wanted the cash to upgrade how I wanted instead of throwing stock parts at it.

I might be down for a deal on your wheels / tires. I'm not paying extra for the custom stripe on the one wheel though.
It's basically signed by the one and only Tricky Dick. Could be a collector piece one day.

I asked Motegi if they sell matching touch up paint or even the color code, I was told to find a local paint store and have it matched. (y) for communication, (n) for being no help.

15 years ago I laid down a brand new ZX6R 2 miles from the dealership. I was devastated at the time. It was the first nice thing I'd ever bought. But I got it out of my system and today I can suck a boulder into my wheel well and not blink. I'm far more upset about our family vacation possibly being screwed up because of it than the damage itself. Shit happens and machines can be fixed or replaced.

They sure do. I've been rear ended twice in the last 5 years and got nice fat checks.

I rode sportbikes for years. Commuted rain or shine until the temp hit 33 degrees (saw Jesus on an overpass at about 60mph - black ice - nope). Taught several of my friends to ride ("I rode a mini bike as kid, that counts right?") and many of them bought bikes and still ride. I ride friends' bikes now when I get the itch - track days suckered me in. Would have been cheaper to become a gambling addict. At least I'd have a chance of winning something.

Yes, their wives hate me.

Anyway, buddy of mine (he's old like me) has been lusting after a Honda Superhawk (VTR1000) forever. Found a MINT one on Crackbook. We take my truck / trailer to pick it up. Bike is NICER than advertised. Seller was a super nice guy. Bought it new, it scared the shit out of him, never really rode it much again. My buddy hands him full asking price in cash, and takes a test ride. All good. Goes to park it, doesn't engage the sidestand all the way - BANG. I laughed at him the entire ride back. (What's he gonna do? It was my truck and my trailer.)

Speaking of insurance - I had a Toyota 4x4 that was a sucker for idiot drivers. 33s, homemade tube bumpers. Got hit from behind THREE TIMES in that truck. Got paid by their insurance EVERY TIME. We'd just use a come along and straighten the bumper back out. That truck had a better return investment than the Dow Jones.

Well...when you smash into a tree on the trails you won't get upset. That part is over now.

I'm sure someone mentioned this, but just rub some dirt on it... You're good. Beauty mark, no one needs to know!

It didn't stall when you slipped it in 1st? That's kinda impressive although unfortunate that it didn't!
it will actually start in first without touching the gas
This sucks, but I am glad you posted how it happened. Tried to start in 1st without touching the gas yesterday and sure enough it worked!

I keep telling my wife I want her to learn to drive the manual. She is very hesitant (her first attempt with my father-in-law 33 years ago didn't go so well...they still laugh about it today). I think the Bronco will be more forgiving and will help her conquer the fear.
