I purchased several genuine Ford exterior accessories including these side moldings (door moldings). While all other accessories like the hood deflector & bumper protectors match the texture and shade of the factory black trim - THE DOOR MOLDINGS DO NOT! The moldings are deep black (almost glossy despite saying their matte), while the rest of the trim and accessories are of a lighter black, the texture of the moldings is completely smooth while the moldings and other matching exterior accessories are ruff to the touch with a visible texture to them. The moldings look aftermarket as if they don't belong to this model. Has anyone successfully removed them without damaging the paint on the door? If so....how!

If they haven't been on there too long, they may come off reasonably easily. Slowly start pulling out on a corner. Just keep constant tension on it, you should start feeling it slowly pulling away from the body after a while (be patient it may take a minute before the adhesive starts to give). And do not pull so hard that you distort on the door (remember it is aluminum).

Once it starts to come loose just keep tension on it (do not get in a rush).

This works best on a hot day, feel free to use colorful language while you are doing it to encourage them to come loose.

No guarantee on whether the moldings will survive though, sometimes it distorts them.

If you like them otherwise maybe rattle can them with a similar finish as the other trim.

They are basically glued And taped. I wonder if the sawing floss method to get it started might be worth a shot

They should come off just pulling and most likely most of the adhesive will come off with them.

Take your time. Dont recommend dental floss. That’s how a lot of piece get saw scratches on their paint. You can spray adhesive remover along the edges to help break down the tape.

went to my dealership. can't be removed without running risk to damage the paint. Its not just stick and peel.....it came with an adhesive. I decided to keep them for now.
