I think you will have competition even with an FE. Between reservations for FE's that didn't get ordered and FE's that don't get bought, some quantity will be at dealers for sale. Depending on what these dealers charge, it is going to limit you in what you can reasonably stand to charge for a "used" FE when the same individual can source a new one even if it's priced higher. If they weren't building all 7k regardless of them being ordered or not, I think you would stand a better chance. If you go this route, be prepared to realistically possibly lose the gamble or break even. As far as the FE betting the only desirable build, I contemplated and could have reserved one at the time I placed my reservation. The only problem was, I didn't want it. I'm positive that I'm not the only one that could have reserved an FE but chose not to. If this isn't one of the absolute first Broncos delivered, I think it torpedoes your plan. Dealers being able to sell 20% of their allocation to non-reservation holders means there will be Broncos available, FE and every other trim.
If you are really feeling conflicted about doing this, consider purchasing and selling to a fellow forum member at your cost. There are plenty on here who just missed the FE slots. You could probably have that arranged in short order and would be doing someone a kindness. You might feel better about the whole idea as well.

Just bumping this thread for poops and giggles... Think these guys who ordered a second one might be making some dough now
With the current chip shortage and the price of some used vehicle actually going up in value, I think any new Bronco up for sale is going to bring a premium. I think the loaded up ones will bring the most over MSRP. My best guess is we'll see between $10k to $20k over sticker. And I wouldn't be surprised if someone pays over $20k of MSRP on a First Edition.

All used cars have gone up. Last year when I looked at the value of the trade in for the wife's 2020 X3 it said roughly 30k. Looked again a month ago when we got the scheduled build date and it went to 33k. Checked the other day and it's almost at 35k. This is from CarMax/carvana buy quotes

I kind of hope anyone that does this takes it on the chin when they try to resell it if that was their sole purpose for getting it.

At the risk of sounding like a prick, is anyone else considering going through with both (if you made two) reservations and building out one to "flip"? Now that I'm writing this it occurs to me that this idea is the equivalent to a dealer mark-up which we are all clearly sensitive too. IF, and that's a a big IF, this was done, what trim level would you build? Base+sasquatch?
Yup.

I have two FE'S ordered and don't plan on selling them. But hope the person flipping a FE make tons of money, as it only makes mine more valuable.

In the short term sure, but will have zero impact on the 2+ year out value.

Well you never know. I'm seeing Gen 1 Broncos bringing stupid money. I guess there's a ass for every seat. Only time will tell what a FE will be worth. I'm sure the folks that bought Raptors a few years ago never dreamed how much they're bringing today.

because it screws over someone in the dealers allocation that would have otherwise gotten their Bronco. I expect nothing more though because some people are greedy POS.

How? If Person A has 2 reservations and decides to sell one rather than use it himself, how does that impact Person B waiting in line? Person B is still getting their Bronco in the same order and same amount of time. Nothing has changed for Person B. Person A is happy because they sold their vehicle. Person C is happy because they get a Bronco at a price they believe to be fair. Ford makes money. Dealership makes money. Win-win-win-win-win

because that person never intended on buying two Broncos to keep. It pushes someone out of allocation who even might fall in earlier that them and it's BS.

I understand.people want to make money and are self serving by nature but it's a douche move.

When I started this thread I obviously had no idea how few of these would be built in 2021. For the record I ordered one 2021 (yes I have a build date and vin #). I do have another reservation but decided to hold it for 2022.

So, if I change my order from hard top to soft top, and I get slotted before you, is that douchy and unfair? If I drop squatch because I want an earlier delivery, is that bad? What if I work a side deal with the dealer Soni get priority slotting?

You think there is fairness in an unfair system. You are looking for some sort of justice in a system never designed for justice. The system was designed to sell cars. Period. In that sense, the system is working. Any other issues you have with h douchy people is something you manufactured in your own mind.

With the whole “priority order” revelation I’m all for the people profiting off of second orders if they can. 🤷🏼‍♂️
