So I got just got off the phone with my local Ford dealer who I bought my 2024 Bronco from. I am being told that I have to pay the dealer $500 to install the DIO hitch and to reprogram an ECU.
When I ordered the Bronco (little under a year ago) I got the Dealer Installed Option (DIO) tow hitch. Originally had it scheduled to be put on back then, but had to cancel and I forgot about it until now. Everything I've read on here indicates that shouldn't have to pay for this, as I did when I originally bought the vehicle.
Someone sanity check me, is the dealer trying to rip me off? At this point, I canceled my appointment and will just do this myself (either Forscan or find a local shop who can reprogram an ECU).

If it was DIO on your Monroney label it should be included (and paid for) once your finalized the purchase agreement.

Tl:dr - you should NOT have to pay for installation

Thank you, that’s what I thought. Looks like I’ll be taking my business elsewhere as well as dropping a message to Ford about it
