My 25 Badlands creates an artificial rumble strip effect presumably caused by the lane keep assist system? It happens well before I cross the painted line on the highway but I guess it thinks I'm getting too close. I'm wondering how Ford creates the rumble strip feel and if it's harmfull to brakes or any other components, anybody know?

Interesting. I’ve noticed this “effect” too but didn’t associate it with lane assist. I also have a MY25 Badlands. Just thought it was 35” tires feeling the highway grooves in a way I didn’t ever notice before.

I'm just assuming it's the lane assist, confirmation from somebody who knows would be appreciated.

Turn the lane assist off and see if it continues. I would believe that you are correct in your assumption.

you feel the rumble strip effect in the steering wheel, correct? The Lane-Keeping Alert system uses the electronic power steering system to create that effect. It rapidly oscillates the existing power steering motor to create that vibration. Other systems like Brakes are not affected/used.

Read the owners manual. It has how to change it and what is vibrating

I keep mine set to the automatic lane correction, but turn of the "feedback", I think thats what it's referred to off. I appreciate the cars help, but I don't need a hand massage in the process.

I did the same setup in my 2018 Edge Sport and the S650.

My lane assist sometimes picks up the seam in highway pavement that is inside the painted lines.
