I have the Ford Wildtrak side graphics and grew tired of the top mountain part of the graphic pretty quickly, but I do like the understated "Wildtrak" lower portion.

I was going to use a straight edge as a guide to cut the rear section straight across to leave just the lower in place, but I'm concerned that this will leave just enough of a lip on the remaining part of the graphic to cause a problem with peeling, etc.

Has anyone tried this before? If so, any helpful tips?

Well the vinyl is cut on the edges already, so I think if you could cut it straight, it would be ok - or at the least no worse than it already is with respect to peeling. It may be the vinyl underneath isn't black and that the cut mark would be obvious because it would be a white line or something - not sure on that one.

That said, no idea how you do that without scoring the paint, or pulling the graphic up and stretching/distorting it and it not laying back down the way it was originally. I'm not a vinyl installer though - they may have tricks.

Yep, this is the exact part that's got my concern. My thought was to pell the top back just enough over a straight edge and cut along that as to not contact the paint... But there would certainly be a raised edge that way, in my opinion.

I peeled my Wildtrak graphics off when I did my new graphics and the OEM graphics stick pretty good. It tends to stretch when peeling it off. I think you may have a issue with the cut edge not sticking well afterwards. Give Underground Graphics a call. They are a sponsor vendor and I think they have done some custom Wildtrak graphics similar to what you are looking to do.
