I have been trying to decide which pocket SAE fog lights to get for a couple of weeks now. I want to assure that they have SAE/DOT markings so I have ruled out Morimoto. I don't think they have the markings even though the say they meet SAE standards.

I have pretty much decided on the Rigid D-Series white model 504815. These are the newer models with higher output. I have already upgraded the headlight switch so I can use the prepped harness behind the steel bumper. I only want one light per side no backlights etc. so I plan on purchasing the KROffroads bracket from 4x4truckleds.com as well as the required pigtail. What has me puzzled is it looks like most of the pod lights are mounted upside down when using these type of brackets. So, I also will be ordering the Rigid brackets that flip them over for top mounting.

With all that said, should I consider the Diode Dynamics SS3 MAX? They have higher output but I can't tell for sure whether they have the SAE/DOT marked lenses.

Opinions welcome!

SS3 max is my vote. I don't sell much Rigid these days and have not in years. Not since Baja took over a big chunk of their market share with a much higher quality light. And then Diode came in and took over a chunk of Baja's market share with a lower priced light that was good quality yet easier on the budget.

Baja and Diode I know for a fact have the SAE stamped on them.
