I have an appointment for tomorrow to swap out my stock SAS tires for the Ridge Grapplers. Starting to get cold feet as I read more and more negative reviews on their performance on wet roads. Driving in the rain is already a huge anxiety trigger for me. Drove in the constant rain today and felt very confident with the stock SAS tires. Zero hydroplaning and not even any of that momentary “oh shit” slip over deeper patches of water. I did slow to 5-10 mph under the 75 mph speed limit. If it wasn’t for the dang rock throwing and the fact I live down a long caliche road, I’d be more than happy with the stock tires.

I had Ridge Grapplers on a 2016 Ram 3500 megacab and was pleased with them. They did well off road, but got great wear and never had a problem with rain or snow/ice. Oddly, greasy slick mud was the only thing that I thought could be better. They don't clear mud as well as a true mud tire. Hope this helps...

I had them for several years on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler before I sold it. They wore great and were very quiet. Unfortunately, they were not very good on wet pavement. It would seem to spin a lot taking off, especially if I was turning and accelerating from a stop.

This is my experience. I love my Ridge Grapplers. Have them on my Megacab, my 2021 First Edition and my 1970 Bronco.

Sticky slippery mud is the only place that i've been disappointed with them. But horsepower has saved me. haha

Had them on a 15' Chevy 2500 Duramax and they would come loose turning at a stop sign if the road was wet. Gave them another shot years later in my 20' Sierra and had the same issue, plus Off Road they were awful... absolutely NO traction. Our local group always makes jokes about them because we have one guy in a tacoma who has them who gets stuck in everything possible with those tires.

Personally I'd rather walk in the rain versus having to drive with Ridge Grapplers.

On the plus side-

they were super quiet on road, easy to balance, look great, wear slow and even and dry roads handled fine.

Had a lot of luck with Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT's as well as Falken Wildpeak AT's on my Gladiator in wet conditions.

Love the mickeys so much they are going on the Bronco this week.

If you live in a dry climate, I think the ridge grapplers are great... but if it rains or snows near you, I would highly advise against them based on my experience.

Different but I have the Terra Grapplers on my FJC, great tires dry and wet and only now towards their EOL are they starting to get slick in rain.

The new Recon Grappler have a better wet rating and are quieter then the ridge grapplers form all the reviews.

I think the Recon Grappler looks like a better all arounder. They seem to have good rain and off road reviews so far.

I have Ridge Grapplers on my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk...mounted for the last 25K miles. I doesn't rain that often in SoCal, but when it does, no issues. And when it does rain here, we get really greasy roads for the first few hours and I've had no issues with that either. When it doubt, just slow down! ;)

Something else to consider, ridge grapplers are heavy. Goodyear duratrac is a very good tire in the wet and snow. Only issue is that dutatracs will get louder as they wear but most AT tires get loud as they wear. I am currently running duratracs on my 21 raptor

KO2s is also a good option.

Can’t answer for the Ridge Grapplers but can tell you the BFG KO2s are awesome in the rain! Just got through Florida rain season with confidence. No issues at all.
