Anyone done this yet?

I'm a big fan of HIDs over LEDs because they shine farther and also I like the color temp better (4300k VS 6000k). I like the slight yellowish light over a bright white light which really hurts my eyes. Also, I like the look of headlights that have a giant round projector in them VS a headlight that has half a dozen LEDs shining (clean look VS busy look).

On my old 4runner I did a retrofit (it had low and high beams) and it was awesome. I guess my question is for those of you that have done a retrofit or are thinking about it what projectors are you going to be using? I'm thinking of going with some Morimoto projectors but haven't decided which ones yet.

Of course I checked out Oracle Lighting but it seems they are concentrating on LEDs.

The forthcoming Oculus Headlights look promising but still waiting on the price. Are they going to be closer to $500 like the Jeep Speaker headlights or are we talking more like $1,000 or even $1,500?

Check out our forthcoming Oculus Headlights for the Bronco. They're LED but use a high quality projector & may be a little more suited to your taste!

Yes, projector Led would be the way to go, F&@k them ballast’s for H.I.D. Jeeps projector Led on the JL is very impressive I drove 10k miles with a set. All one needs to do is copy that design.

The Oculus Bi-LED Projector was actually benchmarked against the Jeep JL Premium LED option & outperformed it in every measurable category ;)

Here's a wall test comparison

They were great and apparently yours are better. The L.e.d. Reflector in the bronco is one of those things you kind of regret moving from JL L.e.d. Projector. I’ll have to take a look at them. I hope people are aware of the difference of reflector vs. projector… if they are you should sell a ton of these.

We're excited to hear the feedback when they're released! (y)

Question about the Oculus Headlights. When using the high beams will the low beams also stay on? I know some vehicles when you put the high beams on the low beams will shut off.

I'm pretty sure the Oculus LEDs have a little shutter shield in them that flips up and down depending on whether you have low or high beams on. So the LEDs themselves don't turn on or off, just that shield flipping up or down. That's how they get their cutoff line at the top.

That's correct - Those are Bi-LED which means they use the same set of LEDs for low & high. What changes vs the two is the direction of the projected light.
