Restoring a cancelled reservation?

have you ever made a reservation at a popular restaurant way in advance, decided you didn’t want to go the week before, only to show up at the packed restaurant wanting the table you booked but canceled?
just curious.

Can't be done, I tried. Long story about a lying dealer but I called and emailed everyone and was told flatly that once a res is cancelled it cannot be restored, to make a new one.

With all the stories of inflight orders having to be canceled and flipped back into reservations due to dealership ignorance or bad acting...I can see where there would be confusion for those that aren't afflicted with the horrible daily addiction that is the B6G forum.

All of those stories about orders being allowed to revert back to a reservation don't apply to your specific use case as you don't have an order or a reservation. You have nothing.
