Went to install the trail armour rocker panels this evening and hit a bit of an issue.

I have a 22 Badlands SAS which had factory rock rails but my dealer swapped these for the tube running boards.

So here is the issue, in the videos and instructions, it shows sliding the trail armour into the trim piece in front of the rear wheel well. I don’t have this trim piece…

This picture is from Cupra’s video for the install. Arrow points to the trim piece.

Now here is what my wheel well looks like:

Am I missing a trim piece here? Or is this correct for the Badlands SAS with rock rails? Maybe did the dealer forget to install that additional trim piece?

Probably can install the Trail Armour but there will be a gap that does not seem to be there with all the pictures I have seen.

Any assistance or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did you determine if the piece is supposed to be there? I have a Outer Banks and that piece is missing on the drivers side of my Bronco also. I installed the Trail Armor but there is a gap. I would like to purchase the part if I knew the part number. Thanks.

The trim piece was not on my Badlands Sas as it came with the rock rails. I did a dealer swap to trade for the factory side step for the rock rail.

The trail armour is designed to use the trim piece from the side step equipped vehicles. It will work Fine if you don’t have the trim piece but as you noticed there will be a gap.

in the end I ordered the trim piece from my dealer for both sides. If you never had rock rails then you should have had this piece. Sorry I don’t have the part number but was relatively easy to find at the dealer.

Thanks. My Bronco has factory side steps. The part is installed on the passenger side but not the driver side. Go figure.
