Not sure I understand your question, but given the protection from the standard skids, these were the only two low hanging bits that I was concerned about. To each his/her own, however, I don't intend to get too stupid with my Badlands - just a little stupid.
Yes, you got it right, thanks :)

Silly question, but wouldn't a diff skid be better if it was just some thick plastic...we don't need strength there...just something to scrap up and slide on instead of the diff.

If I was still in my plastic days, I'd vacuum form some sort of sleeve that fits just coats....ooh maybe truck bed liner ;)

I installed my Valkyrie shock skids today. The first one took 5 times as long as the second one.

I was a little concerned when I received them that they look to have been previously installed, or tried to install, as some of the powder coat was missing where you could tell that it was installed. Well after I had to beat the crap out of them to get them installed, my concerns about missing powder coat were unwarranted as there’s a whole lot more missing now that I beat the crap out of them to get them to fit. The tolerances are very tight and you have to use your bfh to beat them into submission.
It’s a little unnerving to pull the shock stud almost completely out to get the back hole over the stud. I was imagining the shit-show I’d have if I pulled it too far out. Luckily finesse win the day on that battle.
You’ll also need a magnet on a stick to get the nylock nuts on the backside of the two smaller bolts. There’s no room to get your fingers in there. It’s a real PITA. Now that I’m thinking of it, I bet they didn’t build these skids around a Badlands with a Bilstein reservoir. I’m going to have to go double check clearances.
First side probably took an hour or more and the second side about 20 minutes.

Overall I’m pleased with how they turned out with exception of the missing powder coat. I figure that it’s inevitable to mess them up on the trails anyway so I need to just deal with it. I may even just shoot them with some paint.
I know this is old but the broncbbuster video is awesome and shows how easy it is to do.
