TLDR - How do I disassemble the rear roll bar cover between the speaker pods that the dome light is mounted in? Can it be done without pulling the rear hatch section of the hardtop fully off?

I've got a BuiltRight molle panel and a packout of gear hanging on the pass side of the cargo area in my 4DR Hard Top. Which kills the already lacking lighting. Have an old KC Cyclone v1 hanging around left over from my JL. Thinking of use it as a boost to cargo lighting, only seen it done here twice.

Looking for a few, oddly specific pointers, and searches for " interior lighting" , " cargo lighting", and "KC cyclone" are not helping. First two searches pull a bunch of results about Mabett / Oracle / Quake and other kits that just replace the factory rear seat lights, or the pass side light. Search function in the forum itself doesnt allow a negative term search either to filter out unwanted terms.

Current idea is surface or flush mouthing the Cyclone just off center of the current light on the rear roll bar cover, or using the through hole in the cyclone and roll bar cover just reward of the current dome light. Which is my problem. How does that rear roll bar cover come apart...?

Know the speaker pods have 3 bolts each and basically just unclip, but haven't looked in depth at the roll bar cover, and being it's winter I don't have any great way to pull the rear hatch section from the hardtop off the truck to look.

Hey there, the rear cover is hard to get access to bc there are airbag charges in there. I was going to mount a light up there but ultimately it was too tough to run the wire to the pillars with all the safety equipment (w/o removing all the trim).

I have tapped into that wire by just popping out the light and splicing in (for a lighting kit that mounted to door handle area, like IAG). I was able to just pull the trim away far enough to bury the wire.

I did mount up other lights in the cargo area by using an aftermarket tap to pull power off the cig lighter and ran the wires around to different spots.

All of the rollbar trim comes off rather easily. Sides are just removing the 8mm screws. The rear section is clipped in, just need a focused yank and it will come down enough. Check out our video: Dome light install

Thank You. The first ~15 seconds of that video is perfect for what I was questioning
