Raptor hood on Bronco

Took the plunge and ordered a Raptor hood. There wasn't much info on whether it would fit or not.

Bolted right up to the factory hinges. The raptor hood has the studs in place for the struts, the other end would mount to the raptor hood hinge stud. I don't want to swap hinges, so I'm going to look at hinge to fender strut kits.

Prices from local parts departments were all over the place, $1200 to just over $2000. Ended up at $1154 with taxes and picked up about an hour from me.

Still need the top trim and hood liner. Top trim will get the spot for the Raptor emblem deleted and painted black.

Probably will end up over $2000 by the time it's done. More than the ADV heat extractor hood for sure. I didn't like the fact that the ADV hood pretty much just let's water in right on top of the engine.

Love it! The thought has crossed my mind a few times, but I had not seen anyone do it yet. I have a two door and thought it might make it unique! Gonna follow your thread and see what I can learn on your dime… lol

What is it made of? Almost looks a composite instead of aluminum.

Definitely not aluminum, I'm pretty sure it's fiberglass.

I was actually thinking to do the same but because im living in the UAE, the shipping costs would be way too high.

Ended up finding a replacement stock hood imported from China and basically sent it to a carbon fiber workshop to take some moulds. They used the moulds to make a fresh Carbon fiber vented bonnet. I ended up painting the bonnet stock colours because I use the car as a daily and didnt want to look too wild haha.

Came out pretty nice tho with functional vents for some extra cooling and heat extraction.

Got them from Amazon, BluMak 3D.

They were a textured black finish. I had them sanded smooth and finished base coat, clear coat.

I wonder if you could find a braptor hood in a salvage yard for cost savings?
