Just wanted to share my first impressions with my new soft top. I was a little worried about how loud it might be but after a week of having it here are my thoughts!
Hubby installed it and the part that took the longest was the hardware install. We did not purchase a rivnut tool but he was able to find a way to get them in without needing it. I think total time from start to finish was about 3 hours.
City driving- you can hear the wind all the way to the front, whereas the OEM soft top I heard mostly in the back. Itās not terrible and itās just something you accept.
We drove it on the exp way and it was INSANE how loud it was. The whole top was shaking and slapping at speeds of 65+. Turns out we had to tighten all the straps to remove all slack
so that was our bad. Once everything was tightened the top handled much better at high speeds.
I noticed other people sharing that water would puddle up on topā¦the cross bars should be curve side up and we have not noticed puddling even after several heavy rains.
I took it through the car wash and there was no draining whatsoever. In fact I feel like less water got into the door frame compared to my soft top which was interesting.
Opening/closing the sun roof is a little harder and does require some strength. We have had to have one person pushing down the top and the other latching.
I had to contact the manufacturer because I noticed in one area of the soft top the stitching was coming apart and they have offered to send me a brand new top which was incredibly easy to resolve.
Overall Iām so happy with my purchase and love the look it gives my Bronco!
