Rail Car Tracking - Help!!

I’m hoping there may be a current or former rail road employee who can help me! I have been tracking my rail car since it left MAP. It’s original date and destination was Dixiana, South Carolina (auto unloading yard) on July 7th. My rail car ended up being “bad ordered” and sat in Latonia, KY for 5 days then relocated to Louisville, KY for repair. This obviously slowed the process down, so it reached the final destination of Dixiana on July 10.

My question is this: since reaching the destination to be unloaded on July 10, the automated message says “Placed at industry”. It has not updated in a week. Is my Bronco sitting on a rail car unloaded for an entire week?! My dealer says they can see scheduled convoy pick up from the rail yard between 7/20-7/22. Will they wait until it’s closer to time to unload this rail car or what in the world is going on? I’m wondering if the fact that it arrived late due to a bad order right at the beginning of its journey has pushed it down on the unloading list.

If anyone has any information, it would calm my nerves! Thanks guys.

Once the rail car reaches its final destination there won’t be a update for you anymore since it will be taken by convoy to the dealership.

Right, but I figured there would be an update that my rail car had been emptied when it was unloaded.

It won’t tell you that, just that it reached the destination. Ford can’t track the convoy to the dealership either, at least that’s what I was told. My dealership told me it takes about 5 days to arrive and they were spot on.

I’ve just seen several others post that when their rail car was at the final destination, within 24 hours it was reported through the automated system as “empty”.

The thing is, the railcar will be loaded with something else and continue on its journey. You could track that railcar indefinitely.

I found with mine, I didn’t know it had been unloaded and started tracking it going the complete wrong direction. I panicked a bit until I figured that out lol.

Yeah, you’re right. I just thought there would be SOME change; even loaded with something else and moving in the wrong direction

Mine never said that but it may depend on the rail carrier. CSX does not say that, only arrived at destination or something to that effect

That car doesn't show in the system. Like the other guys said 99% it's unloaded and waiting on a truck to the dealership.

Mine is also at Dixiana as of last Thursday (7/14). Ford customer service says it has been unloaded and waiting for convoy to ship to my dealer. I called the incoming vehicle processor (or whatever theyre called) at my dealer today and she said they have usually wait for a full load on the car carrier nowadays because of high diesel prices. Makes sense. But who knows when it'll arrive in Charleston. I'll call Ford back on Wed to see if they can provide another update.
