If you get a build date and the Bronco is ready then it means the dealer had an allocation.

If the dealer doesn't have an allocation then it won't get scheduled or built. Simple as that.
Here's something I forgot ask...

We've established that the build won't start without dealer allocation.

Will the dealership even take the order unless they know they'll have the allocation? Or is that info they can't project into the future, so they just make the order anyway?

I'm trying to figure out if I should diversify and put in another order at a different dealership to widen my chances.

In my experience, that depends on the dealer. I spoke to a dealer that claimed that Ford wasn't taking orders for anything but 4-door 4-cylinder soft-top Broncos. I called another dealer and they were able to put in an order for a 2-door V6 with no trouble at all. I'm not sure if the first dealer was truly restricted by Ford or if they weren't up to speed on placing CVOP orders or if they didn't want to have to wait to make the sale.

Thanks for the insight.

When I first told my dealer I wanted to order a Bronco, he said "are you willing to wait a year?" I said I'd try to keep things off the order that could hold it up and we went ahead with it. I wish that I had known enough at the time to ask about allocation, but I also can say I trust this dealer. My wife and I bought a Badlands Sport that another customer had abandoned because she got tired of waiting and got an Explorer instead. We showed up at the right time when it was going to be at the dealer in a couple of weeks with no buyer. Of course, we scooped it up and they didn't try to gouge at all. It was sold at MSRP.

So I do have a bit of trust already with these guys, but I wouldn't expect them to be totally forthright about their allocation and how it relates to me getting my Big Bend this year.

If you didn't pay them anything down, place a similar order with a volume dealer who will agree to MSRP or below or whatever adventure you choose of ADM if you are willing to pay a premium for an inferior volume model so you can FOB. I would never give a dealer more than a $500 deposit on something they cannot promise will ever produce less deliver. My bank account becomes deliverable when they do.

I did put down $500 with this dealer and I'd be willing to put another 500 down with a different dealer if it opens up my chances of getting a Bronco.

Haha, but really hard to know what makes a "volume dealer".

The dealer that has my current order is what I'd call a mid-sized...but they're in a highly populated area of NY so I don't know if I can judge their size by the physical footprint of the dealership. They might be doing mega-business even though I've seen much bigger dealership lots.

Allocations for the remainder of 2022 are equally based off of prior Bronco and Bronco Sport sales. If you look into the Bronco Sport forums and find a local dealer who's sold the most Sports in your area, you likely found your source.

First comment is accurate, if it gets a build date, then the dealer had allocation and it will get built. But also worth finding out what your priority code is on your DORA sheet (top right) and make sure it’s 10-19 code. If not, ask your dealer to change.
Hi! I just saw my order sheet and was wondering what that code meant - it’s 19… What exactly does that mean?😃

It means you're eligible to be built. Dealers can set their preferences in 10-19, pretty irrelevant, Ford is building what they have the parts for, and 99 (do not build) Priorities 1-9 are reserved by Ford. I've heard of priority 1, but only in extraordinary circumstances.

Priority codes are just a way for a dealer to organize the orders they have in their system in terms of importance. It does not matter outside of your dealer. 1-9 are irrelevant to a regular order. 10-19 is the series for retail orders, 10 highest, 19 lowest. If you and another person walk in same day and place the exact same build on order, if you are priority code 10 by the dealer, and the other is 19, you are gonna get scheduled before the other (ignoring supply constraints and allocation).

10 is highest priority for a retail build at any dealership, 19 is lowest, ask them to change it to 10. All things being equal…if some guy came in today and ordered your exact build, disregarding commodity constraints/allocations, and he has a 10 and you have a 19, his is gonna get pulled to get built first.
Well what is the dealers basis for assigning one guy a 19 and another a 10? Of course my dealer assigned my order a 19…. Plus what usually convinces them to change it to a 10? Threats to cancel and take your order too another dealer?

Thanks wished Id read your post earlier. But again whats my leverage to get them to upgrade my priority to a 10? If it comes down to canceling and starting over with another dealer to get a higher priority does the first dealer have the right to keep the first order on they’re books as we’ve heard before?

I placed my order on 2/18/22. Badlands, sas, 2.3 mt, mic, lux, mod. I asked my dealer this past Monday about allocations and where I was on the dealers list. He told me that they get 6-8 allocations a month but that number fluctuates depending on how many units Ford wants to pump out. They have a little over 100 orders and I’m towards the tail end. He did say that Ford hasn’t been pulling them in order, he’s seen 3-4 month old orders get pulled over 1-2 year old orders. This could all be salesman/dealer speak but just giving my experience. I’m a priority code 19 and in it for the long haul.

That is 100% true about "Ford hasn't been pulling them in order".

Right?! So many questions! I’m calling my salesperson now to follow-up with my email last night… Hopefully, squeaky wheel gets the oil! I’ll report back.šŸ˜‰
