Well what is the dealers basis for assigning one guy a 19 and another a 10? Of course my dealer assigned my order a 19…. Plus what usually convinces them to change it to a 10? Threats to cancel and take your order too another dealer?
If you were pissed off and the other guy wasn’t in a rush, and they had 7 other bronco orders, they might put you at 10, and the others at 11-19, so you’d get priority. But also it’s just up to what they have in their order bank…repeat customers with orders, higher margin orders, all might get a higher priority code. It’s a crap shoot. Just ask them to change it to 10.

Once the order is in and buildable (non-99'd) the dealer has 0 control over when Ford decides to schedule it. The regional managers don't have any say at that point either and can only reach out to their point of contact in scheduling and plead a case to get one pushed up. This is a rare occurrence and usually the result of a very unique situation or is a high profile customer.

Since I didn't get involved in sales before Bronco, it may have been more common or easy to get one bumped but everything I've seen now, scheduling does their own thing and appears to answer to very few. I would not want their job at this point because of how messed up the supply chain is. Can't imagine the pressure they're under.

Here's something I forgot ask...

We've established that the build won't start without dealer allocation.

Will the dealership even take the order unless they know they'll have the allocation? Or is that info they can't project into the future, so they just make the order anyway?

I'm trying to figure out if I should diversify and put in another order at a different dealership to widen my chances.
My dealer told me exactly where I was at in their dealer allocation number and I know approximately how many they are getting each month. But even with that constraints throw a monkey wrench into the equation.

Eeeek! I’m praying someone refuses their truck once it comes to my dealership, and it’s close to what I want! They are over MSRP (getting one from the dealership is even more than if you order through them), but are actually on the lower side around where I live. I wonder how often it is for people to end up not taking their builds once they come in?🧐

FYI ... some dealerships will add adm to an abandon order

Oh, do I know it! Let’s see how antsy I get! Silly me had two reservations when they first opened the order bank, but was so done with my other truck, that I ended up leasing (I always buy) another truck, saw how things were going, and canceled my reservations. I figured it would die down eventually, so around now would be the perfect time, but how very wrong I was! I’m lucky that I did end up ordering one last week because I had no idea that they were closing the books for 2022 this week, and we’ve been away, so I would have missed out again!😬

what is your build? My dealer is in Rochester and I think he may have some orders coming in without customers so let me know what you are looking for.

Thanks in other words I ordered the less profitable package and Ive never purchased a vehicle from them. So I don’t feel that screwed over if at all.

Thanks for the further explanation.
