Anyone with an unscheduled order from Damerow get reached out to about the current situation with the orders? I sent my salesman a message hoping to prompt that conversation, and got the run around.

Anyone with an unscheduled order from Damerow able to get any information at all from their sales person about their number of orders or allocations? I've been trying to getinformation from someone on their team, or even a countersigned order form, for about a year now and getting pretty sick of the treatment.
Do you have a current order with them? Is it full of constraints? Reservation and order date?

Yes, my order has Lux and hard top. Not a reservation holder, ordered last day they were taking orders in March 2022.

You are probably at the end of the list.

I heard a rumor that large allocation dealers (like Damerow) won't be as affected by the recent constraints in that they have enough allocation to possible fulfill at least their reservation orders. But when we start talking about unreserved late orders you might be below the line.

I would suggest monitoring the situation and then go down there in person to get some answers.

It’s been a crazy few days. I’ll provide a more detailed update as soon as I can.

I've been updating more over in this thread if you want to get more details but I'll try to recap as much as I can here.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/11-21-2022-build-week-w-spreadsheet.55911/page-51

Now where was I? So I was getting despondent as it had been dow at the port for six horribly long days. So I resigned myself to waiting over the weekend. I went shopping and grabbed a sandwich from Jersey Mikes. I headed home and while I try not to look at my phone at red lights at the last intersection before home I heard it ding. I have someone who is monitoring United Road and he got pinged that the Bronco had just been delivered at Damerow... It was a sense of relief and then also concern.

You see I help run the Portland Motorcycle Film Festival and had to be at the Hollywood Theater by 4pm. It was already noon.

I rushed home and dropped the groceries off. I was still clutching my sandwich. My wife didn't think there was any way I could pull it off. She said I should wait until Monday... yeah, I made the kind of face you might expect.

I said I'm going to eat my lunch and run over to Damerow. But then I realized there is no way I could eat I just went to the car and headed to the dealer. I think it took a couple hours for my wife to realize I had left. She could have just looked for the trail of smoke as I shot out of there.

Nick was out (I had already texted him) so I grabbed a salesman (Bryce) and they started the process. Bryce and I wandered the lot to find it. The Bronco was in the first prep shop so they had already been working to get it ready. That's where the first picture was taken.

I kept up the pressure telling them I needed to be out of there to get to my event. I was hoping for 2:30pm. It actually doesn't take a ton of time to prep a vehicle. In the meantime we were going through the paperwork. Since I didn't have a trade in (I had sold my BMW X5 a couple months ago while the prices were still decent) and I already had my pre-approval from On Point (btw way if you need to finance I can't recommend them highly enough, even Damerow will push them as they have the best rates) I was ready to go. Just signing a bunch of paperwork.

Since Nick wasn't there I worked with Amy on the financing paperwork. Amy is in the Oregon Bronco Facebook group and currently has a Bronco. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1023930228073167

She offered a couple "extra packages" and I told her I would take one but I wanted to talk to the wife that evening and would come back on Saturday to finalize everything. After talking to the wife she wanted me to to get the extended warranty (bumper to bumper, no deductible) and the windshield warranty (windshield replacement, no deductible) which for the Bronco should be mandatory. For just over the price of one or two windshields with my $500 deductible on my regular insurance I could get multiple windshields replaced with nothing out of pocket.

While they automatically had my price protection they had forgot to include my $500 deposit. Since we were tweaking the final numbers it was easy, otherwise they were going to cut me a check for it.

Now for the VIN stickers. I did ask if it was mandatory (the answer was that they put them on every car) and I didn't push it. I wasn't going to push back on that at that point. But...

A guy over in Camas sold me some rock rail steps. He had also got his Bronco from Damerow and had protested the VIN stickers. They threatened to sell his Bronco to someone else (dick move) and he backed off. I don't think they knew he was a lawyer. His play was to complain on the survey and if that didn't work it was going to get ugly. :p Complaining on the survey worked and they backed off and sent him a check.

I've already got the survey request but I'm going to sit on it for a few days until I know all the paperwork has gone through.

Otherwise they were super nice and I was out of there by 3pm. I was still late to the festival but it was ok. Everyone at Damerow just kept saying we've never gotten a car out this fast. So don't plan on 2 hours unless they have already prepped it before you got there.

So having never driven a Bronco in the city I headed straight for the Hollywood district... at rush hour...

I managed just fine. There was no way I was going to park on the street in Portland but luckily there's parking on the roof of the Rite Aid across the street. Worth the $4 bucks! Plus from the second floor of the theater I could also keep an eye on it. :)

That was my Friday.

Any questions?

Great story. Glad to hear they took care of you. I didn’t get any extra dealer packages and just accepted VIN etching as part of the deal. They honored $1k under invoice and price protection so I didn’t fight it too hard. You’re going to love the Bronco!

Despite getting home Friday night after midnight I still got up early the next morning to go to Cars & Coffee at Langers in Sherwood. They have it every week, year round and I'm there just about every week.

I parked in an area by myself and watched a lifted Rubicon on 37s circle around and park right next to me.

Here's the rest of the "security stickers" story.

I went in today to Damerow get a "windshield treatment" as part of the windshield insurance package I got. I assumed it might be a film or something to actually protect the windshield. Turns out is some sort of spray. I'm guessing RainX but I'm a cynical old bastard. So it's not going to do anything at all but I didn't get the insurance for bugs.

While I was in there I went up and talk to some folks about the $399 enhanced security package that I was forced to get. Now to be honest I didn't make a big stink about it at the time of purchase. One, because at that point they still had all of the leverage and two, I was in rush.

But a couple days ago I got an email from Ford asking me to rate the buying experience. Simple 1 to 5 stars.

I suggested that I wasn't really happy with the stickers and they weren't really going to do anything for me. Kind of like the RainX... I inferred that my unhappiness might be reflected in the survey results.

After some discussion they offered to reimburse the $399 and I should be getting a check in the mail.

My assumption is that they have to pay a lot in insurance to protect all of the vehicles on the lot and they have come up with this program to offset those costs.

I don't know how much hardball they will play at the time of the purchase but from my previous story they may get nasty. I waited until I had the leverage and then went back.

That check will go towards some nice Method wheels.

Let me know if you have any questions.
