Orange County Speedometer Recalibration Services?

Does anybody have any recommendations on places that will re-calibrate a Bronco's speedometer?

The reason I ask is because I'm getting 35" tires from 33" tires, and I want to make sure my speedometer and odometer or corrected. Thanks.

The “official” answer is that Ford will sell you the ProCal tune, and you can use that to recal the speedo yourself. The dealer may install the tune but won’t calibrate your speedo.

It’s totally stupid, I agree.

The real answer is Forscan can do it for much cheaper - along with a bunch of other things. And you will probably have better luck finding a random Joe nearby that will hook up Forscan to your rig for a cold six pack. Heck if you were in Central Cali I’d do it.

But I would recommend investing the $50 or so in a Forscan-compatible adapter and just doing it in your drive way with a laptop. It’s easy and there are a lot of How-To’s around here

Thanks. I'm a little gun shy about using Forscan since I read a horror story on Reddit where I guy bricked his Bronco and had to have it towed to the dealership. And do you need a PC laptop, or will a Mac work?

You need Windows but you can install windows on your Mac and use boot camp or something like that.

If you don't want to mess with forscan, there is always the superchips flashcal, it will allow you to correct your speedometer and make some other changes as well, like turning off the auto start/stop.
