I currently have an OEM soft top. If I buy an OEM hard top and have it installed, will it be like the 'dual top' option, where the soft top is kept underneath the hard top? Or will I lose the soft top altogether? I know the build feature on ford.com offers a dual top option, but I'm not sure if adding a hard top to the OEM setup would eliminate the soft top.

The soft top will not fit under the hard top - it’s one or the other.

I was confused bc the dealership told me that if I bought a hardtop it would cost $300+ for them to install it so I didn't know if that was a one time install fee or what. Newb bronco owner here.

It’s an easy swap. I bought an OEM softop and switch it seasonally. Maybe an hour job. Make sure you cover your pillars! I scratched mine the first time. The biggest pain was finding the parts needed for the soft top. I think they all come hard top ready so it will be easy. The hardtop only options didn’t come with the soft top accessories which was a pain, especially a couple years ago. Feel free to message me any questions, by far the way to go in seasonal climates!

Thank you! Can't believe the dealership bs'd me that I would have to pay them to add some sort of install parts for the hardtop. That's crazy. I will def keep your info so I can msg you w questions when I get my hardtop :)

After you get your MIC top, consider the Besttop Skyrider as a future "Best of Both Worlds" scenario for the 4-door. Especially when the OEM softtop begins wearing or the plastic windows get noisey. It's really convenient and safe to have a full rear cap with glass windows, protecting your stuff, and the convenience of a full 2-row soft-top for that open feel on demand.

Regarding dealer install, it is some work, and lots of utube learning, to install a hardtop for the first time, there are attachment brackets that are not part of the softtop, and some customers will rather have someone else do that. Besttop also offers that service for $250, I think, to reinstall their softtop. It was basically a day's work installing the Skyrider softtop onto my hard top. Lots of reading directions and video . . . And you need a helper
