Hello I am the General Sales Manager of a Ford dealership and a HUGE Bronco guy! Growing up we had a 79 Bronco Orange with a white top and a Manual trans it was a blast! Lots of good memories looking forward to buying a new Bronco when they come out!

Any chance we can get a Granger-like deal? As we get closer to 10/31 I'd like to be able to keep my cash money local. Otherwise I'll be headed to Des Moines.

I live in Crystal Lake btw. Looking forward to seeing a bunch of Broncos on the roads around here (eventually)!

Yeah, I was holding out hope until I called and talked to local dealerships (Downers Grove/Naperville area). They have zero clue what is going on. Since they have zero clue, they can't discuss what their pricing will be. I think they get so much business in the area they don't really have to market themselves. I really think people around my area don't research anything and just walk in to buy it. Convenience is the most important and cost is an after thought around this area. So the dealership has zero reason to budge at this point. I think they realize they can name their price and people here will just pay it.

I'm no longer shopping around. It was taking too much time out of my day. I figured the time I put into shopping would be similar to the time I put in flying to Granger and driving it back with much less frustration.

Same here. I'll reach out to my current dealer to see about ADM, etc. but I'm not putting too much stock in shopping around. Frankly taking the trip out to Granger and being part of the experience there along with everyone else will just be the cherry on top of the financial savings of it all. ?

Exactly. I'm planning to make a couple day trip out of it with my wife. We'll stop to see family and have some awesome meals and drinks with some of the savings over purchasing locally in Chicago. Seems like a win-win to me vs dealing with the local stealership.

Very solid plan. The upside is the trip should take care of a nice chunk of the break-in period as well and gives good excuse for breaks and sightseeing on the trip. Never been to Iowa myself so it'll be new experiences all around. ?

Stay off I-80. Travel the small towns and county highways. Iowa has very helpful people living throughout that state. I was planning to travel the northern part of the state and hit up some sites. Decorah, IA is a beautiful area, so I was planning to hit there and just figure it out between Granger Ford to Decorah. Then after being in Decorah, probably head towards Galena, IL and bring back the northern route through Illinois on 2 lane roads.

Absolutely! I've never purchased a new car before (read: had to break in an engine) so I think the scenic route is the way to go. Besides, isn't that kind of the heart and soul of this truck anyways? If I wanted to eat up highway miles I would go get a Fusion or something like that.

Maybe pack light and do some camping on the way home. Who knows... I guess that all depends on when we actually take delivery.

Thanks for the tips! Saved your message for when the time comes. Sounds like a great trip, I know I've certainly driven down 80 enough for one lifetime. ?

Must be nice to be able to but a car that way. And here I am attaching numbers and trying to see how I can save a couple hundred bucks like the date of the world depends on it.

If I'm honest, I'm not planning to off-road this thing. Well do longer road trips to national parks, some more remote camping, maaaaybe some kind of back roads mudding (basically everything I could probably also do in a Subaru), but I'm wondering if any of you guys are into the offroad scene around here. Never had a truck that was capable of any of that, so I'm not sure what NoIL has to offer.

Also, we gotta do some kind of meet up when all this finally subsides.
