Hey,

Noob here. Just got my 2023 Wildtrak a few weeks ago. I installed the Ford Performance Rigid light bar (mostly because I got it at a big discount) and have a question about weatherproofing the installation.

For the most part, the install went well. I used the upfitter switch (no. 1) per the instructions Ford sent with the light kit (15200K-BRL). But, I did not understand the instructions about passing the wiring harness through/under the weatherstripping to get into the cab (even after reading and re-reading several times). This is what I did (and if it's wrong, don't hesitate to flame me and tell me how to fix it):

So, the question is, is there a better way to get the wires into the cab? Do I need to put silicone around the wire at the front (near the mount) and/or where it goes into the cab in the channel?

Thanks in advance for the help.

It looks like you poked a hole through the weather stripping which is indeed one of the methods they indicate in the instructions. I recall they also say you should silicone around the hole too. That would be fine as long as this is (semi) permanent for you. Getting it on and off will be a pain.

I did something different so i could get the light bar on an off quickly for taking off the roof:

Thanks @nwGTS , that's a nice install and approach. I have a roof rack on order from Expedition One which will allow me to fold up the rack to remove the roof panels, and I think that will work even with the light bar installed (don't know yet--I don't have the rack). But I like your approach--nice innovation.
