I'm wondering if the noise I keep getting is normal or not. First, when using trail turn assist (yes, only on slippery surfaces) I get a sound from the drivers front side that sounds like what I can only describe as the sound the springs used to make on old lift up garage doors. I also get this noise when driving on dirt or sand or any uneven surface really, mostly when turning. I spoke with one other Bronco owner out on the trail, and he said he gets a similar noise using trail turn assist.
So is this normal?
My rig has 5k miles on it, and it has always made this noise when off roading, or even on the road when there is an uneven surface.
