New to off-roading/trails

I'm in Westchester NY and from NJ originally but i've never had a vehicle this capable before off-road. i've always been a sports car guy but looking forward to some new experiences, on trails, mountains, maybe camping. My question is for any fellow tri state area people is if you're aware of anywhere in this area that's good for this sort of thing? i saw that hunter mountain seems to have a trail experience that you can do but that's about all i know of. I probably have over a year till i get my bronco but i like to be prepared!

Former Hudson Valley and Westchester County resident ??. I will say the North East is very scarce for opportunities to go trail riding like you would find in the far Mid-West and West Coast. Best bet is Hunter, Adirondacks, Vermont and maybe New Hampshire. You could take a drive down to southern states.
