So I relentlessly chase down rattles, but it’s a serious game of whack-a-mole

The Bronco is a great ventriloquist.

This one - I would have swore it was coming from the passenger side cargo area, and was about to pull the cargo panel back off thinking it was another of the panel clips or the sub mount bolts.

My wife, riding in the passenger seat, said - no, I think it’s coming from the sunglasses holder. She would wiggle that around and the plastic shroud that goes over the forward camera behind that, but it was all tight. Couldn’t quite find a smoking gun - but she swore it was coming from there, and I kept swearing no, it’s coming from the rear seat or cargo area.

After a couple more weeks I finally pulled that plastic camera shroud off and lo and behold - there is a huge harness in there for the camera and strip heaters. It has a clip that holds it against one of the wires that looks like it’s supposed to hold it in place. The clip had come undone, and the harness could wiggle side to side and rattle against the plastic shroud.

Reclipped the harness to the wire, wrapped the entire assembly in a bit of foam and reattached the cover - problem solved.

Glad I listened to the wife and didn’t tear the rear end apart again.
