I know lots of people do this, just never understood why, unless they are afraid of tools. Cutting them off takes 2 minutes and if you ever wanted to go back, which will probably never happen, it's still reversible by buying back your original brackets. Your method requires an upfront purchase, and storage of unused parts.
Na, not afraid of tools. I just prefer to keep everything I take off in a usable state so I can sell them if I need to or revert back to stock. I know that's not likely but if I ever needed to do it in a pinch, I've got everything I need... or maybe I'm just a pack rat, lol.

I hear you, I'm trying to undue 40 years of saving crap in my garage, so much so I could never find an item when I needed it. This way I'm ahead $80-100, but yeah I may have to wait a couple days, but not much different from any other repair.

Yeah, that's something I was considering as well. Looks good! I assume to install that, you have to take off the plastic skid plate or does install around it somehow?
It installs in the openings where the tow hooks are, but the plastic skid stays in place. There are some thin covers that go around the hooks that are removed to make room for the bracket. I have been happy with the setup. I wouldn't push anyone around with the bull bar, but it works well. Rough Country will tell you the 6" lights don't fit, but they do, and they fill up the space well using the predrilled holes on the bar. Best of luck with your rig!

Yup, saw that too in the other threads am and not against getting the hook less brackets. Quick question about that... one thing the vids said to watchout for is that those brackets support the intercooler and taking them off will let it drop down unless it's supported somehow. Couldn't you just replace one bracket at a time so the intercooler still has support while their being swapped out?
Yup. And the intercooler isn’t exactly heavy either. It really isn’t too big of a deal.

If you are just looking for a way to mount lights you can do something like this. Rough Country bar and 6” KCs. Nothing gets cut off.

Hard to tell from the pic, because it doesnt look like you have front sensors... but wondering if you know if the bar would block them?
