Hi Bronco Friends,
As I obtained my A-Plan PIN today from my lovely mother, I made me pause for a moment to appreciate my family and Ford. My father passed away over 25yrs ago and can hardly believe how time cruises on bye! He worked at Ford for 37yrs in Dearborn as an electrical engineer and my entire childhood was around the Ford family / culture. My dad was involved in the creation of the heated back window in the late 1960's as well as the original keyless entry systems.
While growing up, I was somewhat typical rebellious teenager in that I never wanted to follow in my dad's footsteps and caused my parents lots of grief ;-).
While in high school, my dad was always bringing home cars and trucks and I loved the Bronco's! After I graduated college with an electrical engineering degree (just like my dad) ;-), my first A-Plan PIN was for a 1988 Bronco-II. Boy, what an awesome vehicle and mechanically it was awesome vehicle that when I sold it with 195K on the original clutch ;-).
Funny how the old Bronco with it's 2.7L V6 is the same displacement as the currently planned Badlands engine but boy has the engineering advanced!
Whenever I see my new 2021 Bronco, I'm sure my dad would be very proud how Ford has completely re-booted this awesome tradition into a highly engineered machine.
Regards,
Bruce.
