So I'm looking at an OB squash that has a soft top. I have never owned a soft top before (well, I take that back if you count my 92 Suzuki Samurai, but that was in San Diego 30+ years ago) , nor have I been in one during the winter, so I was curious about why you say this. I'm assuming that more cold air would get into the soft top vs hard, but how bad is it?
Everyone's expectations are different, also location matters, usage, and probably age.

In the summer, for me, it's about fun, top down, and wind blowing all around. I'll put up with the canvas slapping around, the smell when it's damp coming off the top, the plastic windows that are less than optimal. Because that's part of the experience.

In the winter, when I leave for work at 6:30 in the morning with single digit temperatures, I want a vehicle that is buckled up tight. I don't want to hear canvas flapping in the wind, I don't want that damp smell, I don't want excessive road noise. I want to talk on the phone without yelling, I want warm dry air in the cabin.

Years ago, I still remember NJ winters driving a soft top Jeep with canvas half doors in the winter, I'm not doing that now, especially at my age.

So yea, I want two completely different experiences with my Bronco, part of the fun of having such a module vehicle that you can alter. If there was no hard top, the only way I'd own a Bronco, is if i could afford to have an extra vehicle for nice weather only.

But thats just me, and everyone is different, I don't judge what people want their Bronco to be, and you can make it fit your needs and wants.

Ok, thank you for that. Yeah, I'm 'at that age' as well where I would rather have more creature comfort during the winter here in Michigan. And it seems like its difficult/more expensive to get a hardtop after purchase. Figure I can always get a soft top after (Bestop) for the summer months. So I think I think I'm set on a hard top now. Thanks for the feedback.

This has not been my experience with the soft top at all. I have a '23 Wildtrak for over a year now. I talk on the phone all the time. I live in PA so it gets cold too. No issues. The only downside for me is the hardtop looks better. But being able to throw the top back super easy is very nice for me since garage space is very limited for me. I have no regrets going softtop. Not trying to hijack the thread, just my 2 cents.
