I reserved on day one back in 2020 around 11PM. Originally reserved a Black Diamond. Changed to a Wildtrak when it came time to order back in March 21. I was always going to get a hard top. Sticking with my guns ultimately pushed me into a MY22. Had to submit new order back in October
I was originally scheduled for 12/13. Pushed back to 12/20. My blend date was 12/23. Due to the holiday shutdown it was eventually built on 01/05. Shipped on 1/6. Original delivery date was 1/23. It was then pushed back to 2/1. I ended up picking up early on 1/20. I never received an Order, Built, or Shipped email.
Ordered from Jim Tidwell Ford in Kennesaw, GA. Great group to deal with. They kept me in the loop the whole time and stuck with the price we agreed on day one. I had them tint the windows before driving off the lot. They also installed the full floormats and rear mat. Slider steps are ordered and coming in the next couple of weeks.
Next on the list are speakers, rear table, and maybe a light bar. I was hoping that Ford would make a mistake and add the capable bumper. The old B&P used to display it for the Wildtrak. Deep down I knew it was going to be the regular bumper. Its fine for now. I thought I was going to get annoyed by the MIC Black door handles and mirrors. They don't bother me as much as I thought.
Final thoughts: Gas mileage sucks. Radio seriously needs some bass. Its larger than I thought. I'm 6' 5" and its tall for me. Definitely need the steps for my kids and wife. Absolutely in love with it. I just want to drive it everywhere. There is no other vehicle on the road that I would rather drive. Followed two Audi RS8s, this morning and meh! I felt cooler than those guys.
I know everyone says, "Its worth the wait". I'll agree but add that the wait also makes you appreciate it more.
