Morimoto XB Headlights Installed | PHOTOS

We received some inventory on the new Morimoto XB Headlights today. So naturally we had to try them out on our truck.

So I like them. In the photos I saw I wasn't a huge fan but after installing them... I'm digging it.

So the con is that they are not as bright as the XRGB and do cost more... but the PRO is that they have a clean white DRL (if you get the White DRL) and Amber DRL. I opted for the Amber DRL on our demo truck, although we stock both.

They have a nice aggressive look I think. Wires up pretty easy all plug and play. Although because of the design they do pull power directly from your battery but it's simple. You just use the included harness to connect to your battery and the other end plugs right into the back of the headlight.

Takes about 15 minutes to install them both.

We're going to rock these for a while over the XRGB. They still have that great cut-off just a little less light over the XRGB.

(Yes... I know my fender flares off. I forgot to put them back on before the photos, oops)

How do you like these vs the XRGB? Are the DRL True white like the OEM?

Also are the DRL as bright or brighter then the OEM Sig. lights?

The XB are... DIFFERENT. The XRGB are brighter for the lows but for the highs I think the XB were brighter. The XB have less issues then the XRGB because it's not an RGB halo ring. It's a pure white DRL (or amber if you get ambeR).

Can't say if the DRL is brighter then not. I didn't put them side by side as that's not an important feature for me personally

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have a question about the XB headlights. First of all, did they drastically drop the price of the XBs after launching them? I've seen multiple places mention the price being higher than the XBRGBs, but they currently seem to be about half as much as the XBRGBs (not on sale). Secondly, do you know why the installation of the XB headlights seems to be so much more complicated than most other headlights?

I don't remember the old pricing but the current pricing is $959 on the XB's. I want to say that might be lower then the original price. They are also 15% off right now from us using coupon code LABOR

I'm not sure who told you they are more complicated... XB, XRGB, Form Lighting, AlphaRex all install EXACTLY the same way. So one headlight is not more complicated over another at all. They are all 100% plug and play. They all feature an (optional) DRL fuse tap if you want the DRL to come on when the truck is running. That's easy to install as it plugs into the headlight harness and then you just insert the fuse-tap into the fuse panel (remembering to ALSO put the fuse you remove INTO the fuse tap... a lot of folks forget to do that)

XRBB are $1,399 so they are more $$ then the XB.

When I looked at the installation guide for the XBs on Morimoto's website, there were instructions for running multiple wires in the engine bay (DRL harness, crossover harness, battery harness). The XBRGBs, however, seemed to be a direct plug-in replacement for the stock headlights. Below is a link to the install guide I'm referring to. Are there multiple versions of the XB headlights?
